dandannieldanok Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 Dan is making me lean towards a good ol' fashioned international management game. But with who? Who can resist really...... From my experience, I fully recommend a European minnow like San Marino, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan e.t.c. If you do, load Brazil's leagues and start when their season does, you'll get more qualification games.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 I've just had a quite unbelievable game. I lost 5-3 at home to Wales and my striker Andy Selva scored a hattrick, which I'm guessing is the only hattrick a San Marino player has ever scored. I would have drew with a bit more luck and a better keeper, they scored from 2 direct crosses, both were'nt meant. One more game left, Slovakia at home. Not too optimistic as they tonked me 6-1 at their place. I'm hoping to add to my 3 point tally though
DB11 Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 I'm feeling South America tbh. Maybe Colombia? If you want South America why not try Brazil or Argentina?
Nod.E Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 I've fell out with Football Manager. I'm Leicester, First season I came 12th. Second season I raped the league, 1st. Third season 9th in the premier League. The board are unhappy! I'm controlling finances well, High flying in the premiership. Okay, a slight under-achievement in the cup, but to be fair I played 4th place in the 3rd round. Aparantly I'm making no effort to strive towards long-term plans. Anybody know why?

Either that or I just can't do it anymore.

Thats a problem that was sorted by the newest versions available to download... I have the same problem because I didn't get the updates either. Basically, the long term plan in the first year is for you to win the Championship... if you do that, great, BUT, once you are in the Premiership the targets don't change and you are still expected to win the Championship which obviously you can't do any more. I have the most annoying situation ever because of that! First season I won the Championship with Leicester and therefore got into the Premiership... what followed was unbelievable... not even I knew how I did it but I won the Premiership in my first year up... WITH the squad that I had in the Championship basically... All that said, I'm going into my third year and I should be doing better as manager and I am making no effort to strive towards the long-term plans... Fooking board.
lildave3 Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 If you want South America why not try Brazil or Argentina? Beacuase I want to be a smaller team.
morris1234 Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 Beacuase I want to be a smaller team. aha on my city game in 09 forest are bottom of league 2 they had to let all their good players go on frees aswell! plymouth are in a similar situation in league 1!
Mikey Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 Ben, net game surely? Ain't done it for 3 days now, and I was on a roll.

Fox You Forest Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 Im currently tearing up the Welsh Premier League with TNS have won everything for two seasons running, I shall not move clubs until i have got them into the group stages of the Champions League or if Leicester offer me a job. I must admit i borrowed money off Chelsea

How? And also, just started a new one with Oxford. Finding it hard to get good players. Has anybody got any players that I could sign, and that would come to me?

dandannieldanok Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I don't like to blow my own trumpet but it appears my management has had a positive effect on San Marino's world ranking
lildave3 Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Vladimir Manchev and Damion Stewart have been the only bright things in my otherwise shite season with Swindon. <_<
dandannieldanok Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 World Cup 2010 qualifying groups have just been drawn. Group 8: England Serbia Norway Iceland Estonia San Marino There is certainly potential to pick up a few points, I've set myself a target of 5 to begin with. Obviously I'm looking at the Estonia and Iceland games as winnable/drawable with anything against the rest a bonus. I'd love to shock England. *rubs hands in anticipation*
FilboFox Posted 17 April 2008 Author Posted 17 April 2008 I don't like to blow my own trumpet but it appears my management has had a positive effect on San Marino's world ranking Misleading graph... You've only moved up 50-ish places... I've seen teams move up nearly 100 places before! But still... to move up with San Marino at all is a very good achievement so well done!
lildave3 Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 I'm desperately trying to get other managers sacked in a bid to get their jobs. Ooh i'm a swine.
FilboFox Posted 17 April 2008 Author Posted 17 April 2008 I'm desperately trying to get other managers sacked in a bid to get their jobs. Ooh i'm a swine. lol I've been trying to do that to Arsene Wenger at Arsenal... Bryan Robson (!!?!?!?!) at Man Utd and Benitez at Liverpool for ages after winning the league with Leicester... after that, I can't see us getting any better really and I can't get really good players to come to the club so I'm heading for a top 5 at best I think. Then again... I'm not sure if I could leave Leicester... I'm City 'till I die.
potter3 Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 Crewe reach the playoff final Got Leed's, if I lkose I'm going to rsign from Crewe and apply for some championship teams, they'll accept anyone if Ben's a leading candidate

Declared interest in about 6/7 jobs, most of which have said i'd be a leading candidate. Just gotta wait for them to get sacked now
Cal Posted 18 April 2008 Posted 18 April 2008 LMAO! Ive just sold Mads Laudrup to Liverpool for £23.5m, who im presuming is his dad, Micheal Laudrup, is their manager!
