shen Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 http://www.foxestrust.com/html/modules.php...article&sid=402Very interesting read. 71059[/snapback] Aye just finished reading it before you posted it here. Some nice-to-know info in there. I like the fact he's scouting Belgium, which is just a shade below Holland in quality of players. The advantage being that they're a lot cheaper! I'm a little bemused by his comments on Stewart though... And what do you think of a pre-season tour in the States?

Stewart needs to work hard on his final ball along with his tackling. Levein impresses me so much, it's nice to hear the manager is on the same wavelength as the fans regard to players. Under Adams you'd see players commit so many mistakes yet you'd never hear him indicate his intention to work on certain areas with players, but Levein knows exactly what needs to be done. I think now is the time to send Wright out on loan, I know we only have 3 fit strikers available with him included but from Levein's comments he's way off championship level football. Abit disappointed that he failed to mention Wesolowski, makes me abit worried that he doesn't see the talent and potential the lad has.
Scow Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 According to a source on another forum CL believes Tommy Wright is lacking technically, but the coaching staff are working hard to imrpove on this, and have not given up on him. He does have a good attitude, but maybe that's enough. Of the summer arrival of Patrick Kisnorbo, CL said we will like him. He is a centre half, right back midfielder who is aggressive, physical and first to tackles. I like the sound of this. CL has indicated he's looking for quality, and not quantity, so it will be useful to have someone like Kisnorbo at our disposal who can play in a few positions.

It oftens leads to them being chopped and changed, resulting in them never being settled and preventing them from performing to their maximum. However it is useful I suppose Wright can finish, he always has been able to. It's the rest of his game that's questionable.
Ric Flair Posted 25 February 2005 Author Posted 25 February 2005 CL’s view on the current number of Scottish players is that there are not many good enough for our team. His ideal squad size is about 22 but we will probably end up with 18 or 19 players and it will not be filled out by players not up to the quality required. What does CL mean by this? There aren't many scottish players in general good enough for our team? Or the current scottish players we've got aren't good enough for our team?

breadandcheese Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Great article. My gratitude to the Foxes Trust. An important point I want to draw on is this about Gillespie and the crowd reaction. "CL said they had not had to motivate Keith and that Keith had noticed the reaction of the crowd and was grateful for this reaction" The players notice the crowd. So to all those booing Jordan Stewart, you're not helping the player, you're not helping team, however much you claim to be "Leicester through and through", but let's not go over old ground. Levein shows a lot of insight and professionalism. He has a plan and I am looking forward to seeing how he implements it. I appreciate the honest approach and hope that the players who have been challenged by Levein (Matt Heath, Tommy Wright) respond positively. I'm up for the trip to Reading now. Cannot wait to see us at the Madjeski

Get behind him vocally, get behind the players vocally and trust the man to put the many wrongs that riddled LCFC, right.
PompeyFox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 All jordan needs is a game with some good crosses and mazy runs down the wing with a cross at the end of it in the right area. He needs to cut out a bit of his trickery and get to the by line, he also needs to shout more for the ball, because the lad does get in some good positions on the left in open space. Perhaps it,s upto the players to look up and see this. We all know what he is capable of and so does he. Just give that section of the crowd the finger jordan, they dont deserve you........PLAY UP JORDAN.......JORDAN PLAY UP......PLAY UP JORDAN.....JORDAN PLAY UP....... WE LOVE YOU JORDAN WE DO, WE LOVE YOU JORDAN WE DO, WE LOVE YOU JORDAN WE DO, OHHHHHHH JORDAN WE LOVE YOU..........
Molson Canadian Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 A pre- season tour would be great ! not only would the team be able to play in a america and canada they would be able to scout local talent. Sunderland have already booked a match here in vancouver canada against the vancouver whitecaps in the up coming pre-season. i would love to see leicester play here in vancouver
MON Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 I'm thinking good things about next season. I have a feeling that Only Walker and Gillespie will be kept out of the players out of contract. They can play in the premier league, I'm not sure about Dublin or Nalis.
TrickyTrev Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 I like the fact that he said he only wanted players who were gong to be good enoug to play in the premiership, I think this si the correct approach as it avoids having the chop and chnage the squad every season. His criticisms of Wright and Heath without throwing them off the scrapheap are refreshing, at least he is trying to work with the players and has a long term goal for them rather than thinking in the present. It sound slike some good quations were asked with some honest answers, rather than the usual polite pleasentry exchanges you get at these sorts of things. Well done to the FT.
Ricey Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 A execellent read there, you have to to love how open and honest he is. I agreed with everything he said and it has illed me with so much more hope, excitment and confidence that Levein is going to be the man to take Leicester forward. We are very lucky to have Craig Levein.
