Fowler and Hasselbaink

I did think we should have gone for Fowler but was never convinced about JFH's fitness and lastability. Lets see what a few more months brings before we say what marvellous signings they were.

Mind you, the rate they're going they'll get more goals in a month than our entire strikeforce in a season.

It seems liek the old warhorses are getting fitter and settling down at this level.

Im not suggesting that Cort will find his feet with us, especially after his shambolic performance against Charlton but he might. One thing I`d like some of our fans to do is to let the team settle into a new club. We kind of expect them to settle straight in like we do if we are playing some football management PC game and the reality is that some players take months to settle.

Just because Fowler and Hasselbaink are scoring for Cardiff doesn't mean they'd be banging in the goals if we'd signed them.

You actually have to create chances for that to happen.

Fowler maybe.

Apparently Jimmys was a 25 yard pile driver. You don't have to create them.

Izale McLeod now theres a lucky escape, as the BBC commentator said tonight, and as I told you all in the summer (even though no one listened) " If Charlton go out tonight they may well blame Izale McLeod, He's cerainly fast, but he can't shoot straight!"

I was wondering why MA didn't make him his first signing after watching him do well on the Championship show on a sunday but MA obviously knew he wasn't good enough for Championship football or at the very least, had major concerns about him stepping up. He is relatively young though and can improve but he`ll never be as good as Sappleton. :D

We missed out big time on Fowler. When fit he is unstoppable and is pissing this division.

Now now, thats an exeageration.

He's scored two league goals, both of which were scored last weekend, one of which would never of hit the back of the net if Andy Lonegan was doing his job properley.

Hardly me definition of "pissing this division"

I know he got a brace last night but that was league cup.

Jurys still out as far as I'm concerned.

Manwell come on, the bloke was scoring for Liverpool last season while hardly playing.

He will score at least 15 league goals, id almost go as far as to say 20.

Well from what I recall this season, other than the Charlton and Plymouth league games, we've created plenty of chances just not been ruthless enough in front of goal. Something Fowler and Hasselbaink have been all of their careers.

I don't want this to be a told you so, but quality like Hasselbaink and especially Fowler at this level, doesn't come available that often. The fact is we could of had them both if we really wanted to, but instead we have a strikeforce of de Vries, Cort, Campbell, Hume & Fryatt. 5 goals between them, doesn't tell the whole story.

you were talking in the present tence not the future tence anyway, he's not currently pissing this league he's scored the same amount of goals as bleeding Dudley.

And for what they're paying him I should think he will score 15 goals!!!

The thing is... we've now got Megson in charge.

Course, I could be wrong, but I don't think we're going to having many more games where we're not being ruthless after creating a number of chances going forward.

So as is, would have JFH and RF as expensive ball watchers be the tonic some seem to be suggesting?

Also if they came to Leicester they would have had the "Leicester City Jinx" anyway.
