Sooper Steve's shin Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 A lot of people were very fond of Hitler until they found out what he'd been up to. It's very easy to be seduced by the flags and parades and Hugo Boss uniforms, but scratch the surface and all may not be so very rosy.I'm not saying that Allen is a Nazi tyrant, far from it, but it worries me that people are willing to bestow an almost god like status on a bloke that they know next to nothing about, bar a few soundbites on the telly and some charmingly hamfisted web postings. He wasn't here long enough to achieve anything and he could be the biggest tosser on the planet for all we know. He might be lovely. How can we tell? Did the Nazis wear Hugo Boss uniforms? Cool. Great image of Adolf Allen....
Micky Ruddle Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 He was God one minute, and the next...most hated person. I take back what i said after his departure, and will now say. Thanks Martin, But No Thanks.
Maybes Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I wish him well. But to call him a legend is a bit far.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Did the Nazis wear Hugo Boss uniforms? Cool. The SS, specifically. Which I always point out when someone I know spends £80 on a pair of their jeans (Hugo Boss', not the SS)
Brainy Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 What a legend. Yes, legend. What did he do again?
gosfox Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I too wish MA well on his further career..... lets face it no-one will ever know whether he would have been a LCFC Legend or not. He and Milan obviously didn't get on so the relationship was doomed from the moment that this was realised. I, as many others, were shocked and dissapointed by his departure, but in the cold light of day this was the only outcome possible in the situation as it was. The SSN interview was possibly a very clever piece of Self Marketing by MA , and who can blame him?, If he had gone off on one ranting about how unfair his treatment was then he would have scared any potential employers even further off!! So, for what its worth, I say good bye Martin, shame it didn't work out, and good luck for the future, and lets hope that GM can prove himself here, as what LCFC need more than anything at the moment is a period of stability
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 He isn't a speck on Mourinho. He (Megson) wins one game against a Premiership side and everybody's petting the proverbial ginger nuts. Things weren't going in the right direction with Allen, they were shyte against Forest (Clarke-attack game) and Blackpool prior to that. And some Allen signings, Hellings and by the looks of it Campbell too, don't look capable at this level. Thats 2million of Mandy's money on an unproven when he wanted Hasslebank (he'd be shit too..but on-a-free shit), or at least other striker plans. GIVE HIM A CHANCE FFS

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Too many people band the legend tag around these days. "A man slipped on an oil slick, what a legend". Best of luck to Allen, but anyone calling him a legend needs to look up the definition.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I've heard Paul Weller described as a legend. Well he's very old, but sadly all too real
blue blood Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 so if i read between the lines, is martin allen saying get the feck over it citeh. What is done is done so feck off because im over it ready for a new challange!! I find it interesting how firstly his interview coincides with tonights meeting and second of all the link between him and QPR.
josedob Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Martin Allen saga = Why is it I can never seem to read beyond Samir's post on all these threads.... I always seem to get stuck on those ones today.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Whos............. Martin......... Allen is it was he the boy from oz oh no his Peter Allan nah im stumped
Mr Happy Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 From what I've seen and heard of MA, I'd say he was a decent enough fellow and I would of liked to have seen his stay at leicester slightly longer than it was BUT managers come and managers go. Its a way of life. We've now got to get behind megson and give him our full support. More importantly our full support to MM.
Solezmolez Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Best of luck to the bloke in whatever he does in the future legend!
