Kilworthfox Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I think they just got moved to a different area of the away fans. Im sure I saw his little lad running round near the front at one point in the second half. Really I know the guy and he is a top bloke Also it was out of the highest order what happened! The stewards must have a quoter for chucking out away fans because it was ridiculous, as previously said he just stood and then sat like everyone else in that block and was picked out. His child was in tears everyone even mild mannered elders were giving the stewards impolite abuse. The flag was his friends and must have been given back to them. I knew this at the time but decided to join in with the steward bashing as i believed it was apt
Thracian Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Just wondering. What happened with this Kavanagh bloke who was going to be too tough for our young players to cope with? Even after he clattered Sheehan the lad got up and so nearly made his third goal of the game for Newton.
Bert Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Fulop 8 - Class, two great saves, commands area very well. McAuley 8 - Great header, unbeatable at the back. N'Gotty 7 - Solid. As a rock. Kisnorbo 7 - Class in the air. Stearman 7 - Stuck to his task very well, never lost track of his man, always looking to attack. Sheehan 8 - His set pieces are awesome, contributed very well today. King 7 - Let the other two midfielders attack, played the simple balls, calmed things down. Chambers 9 - Such a shame he's a full back else he would've had a goal today, can't fault the lad today. Newt 7 - Energy, workrate and some good runs. Hume 7 - Very harsh treatment from the refs today, could've scored if Fryatt wasn't greedy. Fryatt 7 - Good work on their last man. Dj 7 - Treid very hard and was unlucky not to score. Cort 5 - Nothing. Kenton 6 - Came on to add a bit of experience and hold us out for the win. Well done Megson the lads stuck to the gameplan well and fulyl deserved the win today. May i just add the stewards were complete tw@'s today. One of them told me to sit down, then he told me to get up, so he could get by, so i said but you told me to sit down then he said, ooh just use your common sense will ya. Shocking they picked on a man with a young child, when there were many others who were standing in that area.
Koke Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I hope they put those saves of his on You-Tube. We are on the featured game tomorrow morning. Maybe (for once) its worth waking up for.

Geo V Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Good to hear that King generally had a better game second time around. He`ll only get better for it. Can those who went to the game today tell me/us whether he was getting forward or was he just playing the holding role? Stevie Walsh was saying he looked classy which is great to hear but it would be great if he had something different to Clem and Weso to give us more options going forward.

Sat back, recieved the ball from the defence, played simple yet effective balls to a team-mate.

How he's being asked to play within the side at the moment may not always reveal it, but King is a lot different to Clemence and Weso. All three pass and move though and have sound, disciplined temperaments, which is a big plus.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Fulop 8.5 (Kept his concentration to make a couple of excellent saves) Stearman 6.5 (Made some decent forward progress, untested in defence) N'Gotty 6.5 (Terrible distribution at times but also composed and good in the air) Kisnorbo 7.5 (Calm and collected, won 90% of the aerial battles, threatening at set-pieces) McAuley 7.5 (see Kisnorbo) Sheehan 7 (Like Stearman he got forward well and provided good quality at dead-ball situations) Chambers 8 (Very accomplished performance, moved the ball well and supported the strikers) King 6 (Reasonably composed but showed his inexperience at times with a few sloppy passes) Newton 7 (Ran down a few dead ends but offered some much needed creativity, should have scored) Hume 7.5 (Creative and hard-working) Fryatt 7.5 (Oozing confidence, runs with the ball well and holds it up well also) Campbell 6 (Not strong enough, worried defence with pace though) Cort 5 (Some neat touches but way behind Hume and Fryatt in the performance stakes) Kenton 1 (Only contribution to give the ball away, leading to their only real chance)
davieG Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 N'Gotty 6.5 (Terrible distribution at times but also composed and good in the air)King 6 (Reasonably composed but showed his inexperience at times with a few sloppy passes) Interested in your comments re distribution, if King's was down to inexperience what caused N'Gotty's? Not trying to be sarcastic just interested.

Not sure really but sometimes his distrubution makes Kisnorbo look like a maestro with the ball.

His passing can be wayward sometimes, I'm guessing lack of movement contributes to it but then you could use the same argument for King, no wingers to find etc.

Outside of the ground yesterday we saw Clemence walking very slowly with a pronounced limp and even though we have a two-week break he doesn't look happy with it.

I didn't go yesterday but the way he was asked to perform against Wolves is nothing like his natural game, let's hope Megson allows him a little more freedom.
