Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Fulop 8 - the guy is amazing, new chant today "Fulop's unbeatable", really got going. Cracking save from Burton I think it was second half. Distribution was pretty appalling though else it would have been a 9. Stearman 7 - solid in defence and offered an option going forward especially first half. Sheehan 8 - stuck to his task well and set up both goals. Credit where it's due, pretty faultless performance. McAuley 8 - goal and defended well Kisnorbo 9 - caused the second goal even if it hasn't been credited to him, not sure. Looked like an own goal from where we were. Headed everything clear in the second half. Man of the match. N'Gotty 8 - solid, didn't lose many headers. Chambers 7 - thought he played really well. Drove forward and broke up play when necessary. King 7 - tidy passing and didn't look out of place. Newton 7 - some running up dead ends but generally looked pretty good, improvement on before. Fryatt 7 - ran out of steam second half but really looked a handful first half. Hume 7 - usual business. Subs: Cort 6, Campbell 6, Kenton 5.

BigGibbo Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Thats a pleasing read, im glad Andy King has been kept in & Sheehan played he should be a regular on the basis of just his set peices so far
Simi Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Fulop - 9 N Gotty - 8 Kisnorbo - 7 - So many stupid needless, fouls. McAuley - 8 Stearman - 8 Sheehan - 7 King - 7.5 Newton - 7 Chambers - 6.5 Hume - 6.5 Fryatt - 7 Subs... Cort - 5 Kenton - 6 Campbell - 6
JoeyB Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Fulop 8 - Excellent today, really excelled! Stearman 7 - solid in defence, good runs, distribution was bit sloppy at times Sheehan 7.5 - Excelled with set pieces today, looked good at times, hoofed it a bit to much tho' McAuley 8 - Lead by example, good finish, and great tackling Kisnorbo 8 - looked ok, and got the 2nd N'Gotty 8 - Excelled again! Chambers 9 - My MOTM, Solid today, was here there and everywhere, lots of driving runs to! King 6 - Did the job he needed to, sloppy passing at time Newton 7 - Good runs, justs needs to shoot a bit instead of taking 1 touch to many, overall played well. Fryatt 7 - ran there defence ragid first half, looking better everygame, could of had a few goals today Hume 7 - played ok, but looked tired imo, think he might need a rest. Subs: Cort 6, Campbell 6.5, Kenton 5.
Tommeh Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Fulop 9 - the guy is amazing, just amazing. McAuley 8 - towering header for the 1st goal Kisnorbo 8 - won everything, got the 2nd also N'Gotty 8 - All 3 centre halfs defended brilliantly, he was the only one who didn't score Sheehan 8 - defended superbly, 2 fantastic corners for the goals Stearman 6 - did alright Chambers 8 - great tackling, great energy applied pressure needed in away games like this. Completely different to the last 2 home games. King 7 Newton 8 - looked good, ran at their defence looked like doing things. Provided a good link between midfield and attack Fryatt 7 Hume 7 Megson 9 - Once we were up we never looked like letting it slip. He sure knows how to play out a win.

Stuliasz Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I wasn't impressed with King, anonymous for too much of the game in my opinion and when he did have the ball, his first touch seemed to escape him. Think he needs a bit more work before more first team matches. Anyway my ratings... Fulop 8.5 - Top drawer with the exception of his kicking. Marvellous save late on and quality chanting N'Gotty 8 - Can not fault any of the defenders, all brilliant McAuley 8.5 - Same as above, add goal Kisnorbo 8 - See above Stearman 7.5 - Seems to be settling nicely into that right wing back role Sheehan 7.5 - Excellent set pieces and very solid defensively too Newton 7.5 - Did not expect to see him in the team but added quality and a good first touch to the middle of the park King 6.5 - Probably would be a lower rating if it wasn't the Kingmeister and he is a rookie. Chambers 7.5 - Best I've seen him in central midfield, sticking him on the left meant he could cut inside and wreak havoc Hume 7 - Held the ball up well, keeping possession at key times in the game Fryatt 7 - Lively for the entire game, but should shoot when he gets the chance more often. SUBS - all saw the game through. Megson - I won't give him a numerical rating but he deserves credit where its due. His tactics seem to pay dividends away from home and the 3-5-2 is really growing on me. Stewarding 0 - Unless I've missed something, what the hell is the point in taking the flags down from the back of the stand without explanation? Was there some slogan on the flag that I couldn't see? Also kicking the ringleader of the singing out, his kid was balling his eyes out. All he was doing was singing, no hint of trouble or 'nasty' songs.
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 So we weren't sitting back for the whole second half like the radio more or less made out? >_>
Tommeh Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Front row ? well, for 65 minutes yes, twas pretty horrific actually, good day though

Was there some slogan on the flag that I couldn't see? Also kicking the ringleader of the singing out, his kid was balling his eyes out. All he was doing was singing, no hint of trouble or 'nasty' songs. It was his flag, so I guess he wanted it back. Completely uncalled for, minority stewarding again from the gutless tw*ts. One of them was alright though, we shouted "stewards give us a song", he replied with "sit down and behave yourselves"

Stuliasz Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Where abouts were you then? I was Gangway Y (right side), bunch of lads up to my right were singing for the entire match and the stewards were getting needlessly involved.
Simi Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 I was Gangway Y (right side), bunch of lads up to my right were singing for the entire match and the stewards were getting needlessly involved. That would of been us lot, the Police didn't even seem bothered to be honest, just the stewards.

Cobbo Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 Ah I nearly got chucked out of that place a couple of season's ago. 'I'm talking to thee' I gave him an ear full and he got scared and buggered off. Yeah yeah!!
Stuliasz Posted 6 October 2007 Posted 6 October 2007 That would of been us lot, the Police didn't even seem bothered to be honest, just the stewards. Fair play, the police came for the flag though. I have retracted my 0 against the police, left it just with the crappy stewarding. Great job with the singing though, some classy songs coming through.

Im sure I saw his little lad running round near the front at one point in the second half.
