AoWW Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Anyone heard it, or got the cd?brought it today and its alright! better than i thought it would be yep... have been listening to it for the last week or so (not non-stop, obviously... that'd just be silly). A few good tracks - many mediocre - a few that are beyond dire. The Feeling... you're so vain Shite!
JoeyB Posted 9 October 2007 Author Posted 9 October 2007 i have got to number 7 on the first disc so far, due to driving and other stuff i haven't got any further
The Reverend Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Yeah ive got it, not bad actually, some good chunes on it. Razorlight - Englishman in New York. Top chunage.
foxchop Posted 9 October 2007 Posted 9 October 2007 Got it just for the Fratellis but the song is just uncoverable (Jimi Hendrix- all along the watchtower). Best track on it is band on the run - Foo Fighters. Keane doing under pressure ain't bad either.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Got it just for the Fratellis but the song is just uncoverable (Jimi Hendrix- all along the watchtower). Which is beautiful given its origins.
hairy Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Love the Streets cover of Elton John. No respect for the original at all. The rest though is poor. Kasabian sound like a pub band.

Keane doing under pressure ain't bad either. errr are you sure.... it was Dylan who wrote the song!!
purpleronnie Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Just looked at the tracklisting....oh dear. Some good tracks but covered by shit bands. Wouldn't mind hearing Amy Winehouse - Cupid (Johnny Nash) - she really has an amazing voice. But Mcfly singing The Jam is just wrong!!!!!
AoWW Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 The sound quality seems really poor . First played it in the car and thought my CD / speakers must be knackered. Tried it in my stereo at home - just as bad still. Anyone else noticed this?
Alexikokopops Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Which is beautiful given its origins. errr are you sure....it was Dylan who wrote the song!! That's what I was getting at, ha.
foxchop Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 errr are you sure....it was Dylan who wrote the song!! Oops sorry, whoever did it the fratellis murdered it
Alexikokopops Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Oops sorry, whoever did it the fratellis murdered it Bob Dyllan wrote and performed it first, Jimi Hendrix covered it.
foxchop Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Bob Dyllan wrote and performed it first, Jimi Hendrix covered it. I've never heard the Bob Dylan version anyone know a good firing squad.
Webbo Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I've never heard the Bob Dylan version anyone know a good firing squad. Hendrix's version is way better.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I've never heard the Bob Dylan version anyone know a good firing squad. I love Bob Dylan and I love his version, but the one Hendrix boshed out is exceptional.
foxchop Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I love Bob Dylan and I love his version, but the one Hendrix boshed out is exceptional. Just going to give the new Radiohead album a blast then I'll search out the Bob Dylan version.
Nationwider Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Does it have the Foo Fighters version of Band On The Run? I heard some charver playing that and it sounded excellent. Not strictly on topic, but does anyone else find Jo Whiley embarrassing? Seriously, Mum - give it up. You're not down wit da kidz anymore. You're probably 57, and fast becoming the female Jimmy Saville.

Joe. Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Here If anybody's interested, all the original artists who did the song and then the artist covering it.
Joe. Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I heard Maximo Park's version of Like I Love You before this was released. It really is shocking I'm afraid. :\ I'm a big fan of Maximo's music and this has done them no favours
Ultra Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Very few of the artists on this album do themselves any favours. This really is one to avoid.
David O'Leary Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Very few of the artists on this album do themselves any favours. This really is one to avoid. Are all the tracks that poor?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Seriously one of the worst albums I have ever heard. Redeeming feature: No Diggity by Klaxons!! One of my favourite songs of all time and they've actually done okay with it!!
