AyewJoking Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 Do you think Martin Allen will come back to us? I think if he sent a nice letter to Milan apologising for the way he behaved and maybe sent a box of Roses too.
Raj Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 Martin Allen was a pundit on Sky Sports this afternoon for the MK Dons Vs Lincoln City match. He was asked about his time at Leicester Martin Allen?? Who???
RedOnRed Posted 15 October 2007 Author Posted 15 October 2007 What's Megson like as a personality and creating a buzz and a vibe around the place?
Raj Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 What's Megson like as a personality and creating a buzz and a vibe around the place? Megson is never going to be the sort to get a club buzzing with excitement and anticipation. However after the numerous changes of managers and money spent on crap players we just need some stability with a half decent manager. Most fans (i think)are NOW willing to give Megson a chance but many still dont have much hope. He's defo made us a tougher team to beat(IMO) but we still lack any flair, which after the last few seasons we are all used to! Hopefully he can offload some shite in Jan and get some of his own players in. P.S-Well Done to you Boys
eaststandtom Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 Martin Allen was a pundit on Sky Sports this afternoon for the MK Dons Vs Lincoln City match. He was asked about his time at Leicester and said he had no regrets and enjoyed his short term there. He's been gone a while now from you guys. Now the dust's settled, do you feel like you're missing him at all? We're now playing the best football we've ever played and are continuously getting emphatic and convincing wins. We got wins last season but they were usually by the seat of our pants. It's also got to be said that the place seems a happier camp and you can see that the players are enjoying their game more now. So from out point of view, apart from his legacy of leaving us some top signings, on a day to day basis we're not missing him at all (thankfully). i dont !!! glad to see the back of him
Thracian Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 We got a great win today. Ince really seems to know what he's doing. There were times under Allen when we'd have a slender lead and he'd bring on more attacking players and we'd end up losing. There's no weird and wacky decisions now.Slight change of subject - apparently someone died at our ground today. A bloke had a heart attack at the turnstiles and then knocked his head badly going down. And I got battered for suggesting Ince as our manager. Even now I wouldn't be surprised to see him pass us on the way up before long. Megson's doing okay but like Raj says, I cannot imagine him getting the place buzzing with excitement. Here's to being proved wrong though.

It's actually now pleasing to watch. Temperament and presence wise he's completely different to Allen. He's quite low key.
wirralsimon Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 Yeah, Ince certainly seems to be doing a good job for us. RedOnRed Posted 15 October 2007 Author Posted 15 October 2007 If GM doesn't work out, we can always poach Ince at the end of the season..... Hey, easy tiger, that's way out of line. I'm sure Incey would do a good for job for you though. He belongs higher up. If he's still with us this time next year, or even after christmas for that matter it will be a major surprise.

It's hard to imagine him coming here after being overlooked last time and, besides, fans opposition seemed pretty vocal for whatever reason.
Asha Posted 15 October 2007 Posted 15 October 2007 Thought Allen were good enough manager but Megson hasnt done all that much wrong, so im 'over' Allen if you like and believing Megson isn't such a twat i thought he was.

ronnup Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 Interesting you say that, you do realise we're approaching clubs for our new manager don't you? get him in, sounds promising
STUHILL Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 We have never really recovered from Allens departure, 4-1 against Watford and we were just starting to believe we could push all the way. Then sacking of Allen and we have been stumbling and tripping over ever since, looking as likely as getting promotion as we have in the past few seasons. I'm not saying getting rid of Allen was wrong, I just think Allen plus 16 signings has been a complete disaster and will surely knock us back this season and maybe even next!!!!
