Well PNE have been quite a solid outfit in the last few years, but since the departure of Moyes and latterly Billy Davies it seems that PNE have really got to find there feet in the Championship. With Rob Kelly as coach he will know a little about our players strengths and weaknesses. Colchester is a tricky ground and we were unlucky to get all 3 points to be fair, so Is this going to be another draw? are we going to get beat or is this a game we should be looking to win and to kick on from, I really hope that we get 3 pts as this would really set us up nicely for the weekend. thoughts... Flip - Fulop Stearman Sheehan N'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Hume (if fit) Chambers Kenton Fryatt John Subs Hend, Sapps, Cort, Maybe, + whatever midfielder we have available.

Sods Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Got to go for three points, preston strugguling last season. We beat them last year so why not this year. Come on you blue boys.
STUHILL Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 any point away from home is a good point!!i am hoping for this That's a terrible attitude to have. I hate it when players and managers say their happy with the point, especially in this League and with our ambitions. We should be going to every away match looking for 3 points and if we don't get it, then we should be disapointed!

That's certainly how it should have been but I don't know how realistic it is with the available players. Myself I think three points at Deepdale will be a major achievement.

A safe point away from home and then win your home game should put you in the top 6 , we have been poor in the past few seasons and therfore a point at PNE is a point gained, 3 would be better but its a very tight league this year.

Raj Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Good time to play em me thinks. They missed a last min peno on Sat(Which i had as a draw and cost me 20 squid!) Apparently thats 4 they have missed this season. Cant remember the last time we had 4 in a season!!! Hopefully they get another one, miss it,lose all confidence and we whup their sorry northern arses and the ex Derby player of a manager they have gets the sack! (actually the end bit is a little too harsh maybe!) Good luck to all going!

Thats a pretty bad attitude to have, and one that will lead to a lot a dissapointment. Even teams like Man u and Arsenal frequently drop points away from home, of course we should set out to win the game but if we get a draw at the end 90 minutes I wont be complaining, win you home games a draw your away ones in this league and your likely to go up automaticaly.

STUHILL Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 We've drawn far too many games already this season, if players and manager are already in the mind-set that an away point is a good result then we are less likely to push for a winner when in a 1-1 situation. I don't care if we are home or away, against sides like Preston and Colchester, we should really be pushing for 3 points if we are going to win promotion this year. We can't settle for draws all the time away from home against average Championship sides, because we all know our home record is far from perfect. I understand that after 90minutes and it's been a tough battle that a draw and a point may be a relief, but it's fact that people would be happy with a draw before we've even kicked off. I just want promotion and success, and that to me means being ambitious enough to Win away games as well as Home.

Why can't we we are an average Championship side, this teams nowhere near good enough to challenge for a top 6 spot.
STUHILL Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 we are actually an average Championship side don't you think? Yeh I guess you're right, I just find it hard to admit it to myself! Plus Leicester will never be average in my eyes
STUHILL Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Why can't we we are an average Championship side, this teams nowhere near good enough to challenge for a top 6 spot. When I see teams like Bristol City flying, then I still believe we can sneak a top 6, just need confidence, even arrogance that we should be in Top 6, hence reason I think we should play and play to Win. No point at end of season and looking back at all the Away draws thinking we could have sneaked 3points there.
Vacamion Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Although Preston are on a poor run of late I have little doubt that the match will be a cold, desolate hoof-fest, little improved by Preston's silent support and their work in progress stadium. Another late stab in from a couple of yards to give City three points would be just the job, though...
Staf Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Preston 1 Carter Leicester 2 John Campbell Believe me
BigGibbo Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Got to go for three points, preston strugguling last season. We beat them last year so why not this year. Come on you blue boys. Considering our list of un-available players & this being our 3rd game in less than a week we have absolutely no right to be expecting 3 points (wanting them of course). As far as Preston are concerned we are there & depleted for the taking & this is a must win game for them so anything we can get is an achievement in my opinion!

No point at end of season and looking back at all the Away draws thinking we could have sneaked 3points there. Obviously we should always play to win but it isn't always going to happen, Bristol City will fade and finish mid table like Colchester did, Plymouth did, etc etc.

Thracian Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 I think Bristol are good enough to finish in the top 10 & I wouldn't be suprised if they sneaked a playoff spot! I'd certainly bet on Bristol finishing in the top 10. Their reputedly good football and positive approach seems to give them a chance of winning every game.
