Phube Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 I don't like this poll... Where's the 'None of the above' option?
RoosterRussell92 Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Can someone actually explain why Souness would be a good choice? He's terrible.- The Scottish League is crap, so forget his 'achievements' at Rangers. - Failed at Liverpool. - Galatasaray - see Rangers. - Failed at Southampton - think Ali Dia. - Failed at Torino. - Failed at Benfica. - Decent job at Blackburn - promoted, a 6th place finish and a League Cup win. Avoided relegation the penultimate season before going to Newcastle - their fans glad to see him go. - Failed at Newcastle. Apart from a decent spell at Blackburn (where he had plenty of money to spend), he's been largely shite. Another example of a great player but shite manager. Couldn't agree more, I'm tired of people claiming that Souness is a decent manager, he's bloody appalling!
lcfc_jme Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Stick a flat-cap on Royle, glue a rather large and comedic fake 'tache on him and then ship him in if it's a choice of the 3.

It's like a managerial horror story.
Chromophobia Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Royle. I think there was a tinge of excitement about who would be the next manager before Megson came, but not now.
Charnwood Norris Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Don't like any of them, though I would choose the most attacking of the three and that would be Royle. Souness would be a disaster - look what he did to an 'attacking minded' Newcastle team...
Monk Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 2 people have voted for Reid. Could the mods ban them please. Thats disgraceful.
Mr Happy Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Out of those 3, like so many others here, it'd have to be Royle. But I picked Reid purely because by xmas he will be sacked and we can then start looking for our new REAL gaffer instead of all these washed up has-beens
Lichfieldfox. Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 Of those it has to be Joe Royle. Has the best record and doesn't ball and shout and bully which in my view never gets the best out of people. Keep Tags as assistant and we may have a successor lined up once spent a year in the prem. Other options I'd be keen on include Jewell, Newell, Grayson and possibly McAllister. I understand the Walsh cries but totally unproven. Good player does not equal good manager.

Master Fox Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 It will be Royle.my arse. I've said it all along. We might as well just get Peter Reid over and done with.

Master Fox Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Better not be.... If Milan think's the reaction was bad when Smegson was appointed he ain't seen nothing! I think most of us wouldn't really be that surprised. What can you do?? As far as we’re concerned it’s just another manager.
The Stig Posted 6 November 2007 Posted 6 November 2007 Certainly according to the press Jewell is not out of the running completely, but out of those is got to be Souness, I think he could repeat what he did at Blackburn, if not Royle, it would be nice to see some attacking football
