Derby v West Ham match thread

Looking forward to seeing the highlights of this, don't know the score, know West Ham have a lot of injuries up front so not expecting too much from them but hopefully they will nick a draw or something.

(You can delete it or move it to GF&S once we've all cheered the Wham goals. The LCFC forum could do with a laugh tonight.)

because they're playing derby.

I could see Derby sneaking their first win of the season here, unfortunately. West Ham are a good team but they're no Liverpool, I think a massive score is out of the question even if Derby do lose. Looking forward to seeing how they do.

My dad text me from the UK asking me what the Derby score was... he was about to drop in on a mate of his (Derby fan) and he needed to be in the know.

He's going to enjoy that. Especially as my dad supports (somewhat) West Ham. lol

. No Hiding Place - The lads try to avoid learning the result of an England football match before the TV highlights later that evening. Brian Flint (Brian Glover) tries to spoil it for them in order to win a bet. Flint bets them a total of £10 that they won't get through the day without hearing the result. They get to the TV highlights none the wiser about the score except Terry glancing a newspaper stall saying "England F...." Flint then barges in to Bob's house, and angry Terry pays him off with £10 so he'll leave. The match though turns out to have been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch...

1 shot on target all game. Very poor performance. Not touch-tight at the back. It's all too easy for the away team. Boos at the end. Sounds familiar

Derby getting raped. Guessing you saw Liverpool leaving it late against Fulham. And know it's Sunderland - Newcastle on at the minute.

We'll take the ones I've left visible on free transfers, if you like?

Quote of the match...

With West Ham 5-0 up, the commentator says...

"Just a goal for Derby would give them a glimmer of hope"

I don't know why we're laughing really because at least they're in the Premier. When they go down, next season they're likely to have Earnshaw, Miller and Howard all still up front - quality strikers who are better than any of ours for a start.

Special mention to Peter Taylor too. Beaten 4-0 in his first game in charge of the mighty Stevenage. Thought maybe he'd found his level, maybe he just doesn't have one.

Would we rather be us or Derby at this present time?

At least they have a manager, and average crowds of 30000+.

So they're still in a lot better shape than we are!
