Milky Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Yeah, but what if we do what we usually do. Decidely average. Say Quarter Finals. Hence Good old Stevie doesn't get the sack. He's not going to stop being a crap manager if we scrape into Euro 2008. He'll get sacked if we only reach the quarters. In the Euro's remember you go into the QF straight after the group.
Lord Nibblington Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 He'll get sacked if we only reach the quarters. In the Euro's remember you go into the QF straight after the group. Much like Sven was sacked after getting to the QFs of Euro 2004? And also, much like Keegan was sacked after doing well at Euro 2000. Fact of the matter is, we don't have much of a history with actually sacking managers due to performances.
Webbo Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 How many people on here would pick a different team than McLaren? Most people would play 4-4-2 and if the players need motiving playing for their country them they shouldn't be a professional footballer. Alright McLaren isn't charismatic, but he's had a lot of injuries and made some cock ups but who could do better?
Lord Nibblington Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 And now Macedonia are beating Croatia. How odd.
Leicester Lass Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 And now Macedonia are beating Croatia. How odd. Croatia are already qualified though remember.
Webbo Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 And now Macedonia are beating Croatia. How odd. And rumoured Leicester target Naumoski score 1 of them.
Floating Fox Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Croatia are already qualified though remember. Only because of the Russian result. We could still finish top
Finnegan Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Serves him right the smug tw@t. Haha. Aye aye, laugh it up, but who would you rather managing your national side - McClaren or Hiddink?
purpleronnie Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 They still could have the last laugh. The fact that Croatia lost makes me feel they won't mess up again even though they are through already.
Mikey Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 They still could have the last laugh. The fact that Croatia lost makes me feel they won't mess up again even though they are through already. Maybe the England players will be thankful for the 2nd chance and then they will make sure they don't mess up again.
Milky Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 They still could have the last laugh. The fact that Croatia lost makes me feel they won't mess up again even though they are through already. So, are you going to lay into Russia and say all Russians are bottlers?
Tevez Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 McClaren keeps his job.England continue to play shit football. What a wank night for results - this is shit Very good shout.
The Reverend Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Haha. Aye aye, laugh it up, but who would you rather managing your national side - McClaren or Hiddink? Who gives a toss his teams out, McLarens is looking like qualifying. The blokes a cnut. Dont mean i wouldnt want him in charge of England though.....

Finnegan Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 And most childish poster of the year (because i had a go at you're hero Koumas) goes to..... Your*, and I'd be taking the michael anyway, mate. Hiddink's a blinding international manager and Russia are a fairly average team. What makes him a cnut? A bit of psychological warfare, just clever, really. And he's got every right to ridicule McClaren's tactics - the man is useless.

I agree, hes a good gaffer, BUT hes an arse because of the stuff hes said in the past. Psychological warfare ok, but now i am entitled to laugh at him for saying such things. Fair?!
Finnegan Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 All I'm saying is, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Plenty of good managers have had egg on their face over a bit of psychology. Mourinho's a classic example, and Hiddink's no way near in his league of bastardy. In fact, I can't think of another example of Hiddink displaying this sort of behaviour other than that one. And you can laugh all you want at him, the last time he played a team of McClaren's he won with - probably - a lesser squad.
Milky Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 And the Milky Joe award for blinkered ignorance* goes to... Blinkered Ignorance? All because i said the Scottish don't like the English! You're a joke, go pick on someone else. If people who knew me could see you associating me with ignorance, they'd laugh their head off. Thank fook you don't know me, you pathetic bitter little man

Indeed he did. But whats your point? His team are effectively out, yes with a lesser squad than Englands, but they are out. McLarens are'nt. Hiddink won the battle, but McLaren is looking like winning the war. Besides, i think positives can be taken from this campaign. We've still got through, with a joke of a manager, and the team massively underperforming. EDIT: Milky and Finners, come on lads kiss and make up, we're all mates on 'ere, 'tis only t'internet.
Hullfox Posted 17 November 2007 Author Posted 17 November 2007 Rumours are there'll be more Russians at the game than Israelis.Ben Haim, the lynchpin of the Israeli defence, has hardly been a tower of strength in recent weeks. I suspect that Russia will nick a winner in the dying minutes.. I suspect that you'll be shown up for knowing fook all about fook all myself. oh, how right I was................
