Ric Flair Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Who wouldn't want to manage Leicester City?
Simi Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 He might go and join Smegson at Bolton now, although I heavily doubt it.
Master Fox Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 I used to like the way he said 'Der Supt-port-TERs'
Thracian Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Hardly a name to display in the corridors of Leicester City achievement. Has Taggart gone with him?
Master Fox Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Hardly a name to display in the corridors of Leicester City achievement. Has Taggart gone with him? Give it a rest.
Thracian Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Give it a rest. Is that a defence of the guy?
Simi Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Hardly a name to display in the corridors of Leicester City achievement. Has Taggart gone with him? Taggart is still here.
Thracian Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Taggart is still here. Thanks. That's all I asked.
STUHILL Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Taggart is staying to make up backroom staff Bye Frank, thankyou!

Simi Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Thanks. That's all I asked. You happy with that? Or would you of liked to see him follow? I'm happy he's here, as long as Holloway gets one with him, I'm sure he'll learn a lot from him.

Thrac's not been bowled over by Gerry since his return from what I can make out, which is fairly harsh on him given the role he's doing. It's hard to have a noticeable impact given the circumstances.
eaststandtom Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 By mutual consent.Bye & thanks Frank good riddance! i personally blame him for all our troubles! and those two lost government discs! just for a laugh
Master Fox Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Is that a defence of the guy? No. I know he wasn't up to it, so what? But we all knew he was only here for the short term. I can't really see the point in slating the guy. What little enjoyment we've had supporting the club over the last few years, I'd say that of 6,500 people who went to Chelsea had one the best experiences they've had following Leicester (including yourself) under the guidance of Burrows and Gerry. The team performed magnificently that evening, so for that reason I don't believe too much criticism can be directed at the caretakers.
Durnerz Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 I would have thought he'd have been asked to stay with the flat cap and the tash, would have reminded Holloway of home.

It's hard to have a noticeable impact given the circumstances. I have mixed views on Taggars, he's someone who needs to learn his trade and he seems like he's got a clue about organising a defense. However part of me thinks he's just here to keep the fans happy which is wrong, and if Holloway wants shot of him to bring in his own staff then that should be the way of things.
Master Fox Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 I would have thought he'd have been asked to stay with the flat cap and the tash, would have reminded Holloway of home. Why are you so critical? What's wrong with flat caps? And i quite like a man with facial hair! Everyone on here just loves to belittle everything don’t they!

The team performed magnificently that evening, so for that reason I don't believe too much criticism can be directed at the caretakers. I wasn't going to slate him. I had my say after our last home game. But given how wonderfully we did at Chelsea - and the three goals we scored to almost win the match - why did we approach the Burnley game in such an unambitious and negative way? If memory serves we were 64 minutes having our first serious shot. If that's good coaching you can stick it. Anyone can be adventurous and positive in Cup matches. We'd been that against Tottenham, Villa at home and Fulham (twice) under other managers and have generally done okay in the cups, even against decent opposition. So, bearing that in mind, why the change of attitude for League games?

So, bearing that in mind, why the change of attitude for League games? I don't actually think we deliberately change things. It's just one of those things that happens on certain occasions, players just raise there game for the bigger games. It's a well known theory, not a tactical decision.

So, bearing that in mind, why the change of attitude for League games? That's bollocks though Thrac. Against Chelsea where we were gung ho at times, we had 7 defenders, zero midfielders and 3 strikers playing. It was a horrific mess but somehow we went out there and went for it. Against Burnley the team was slightly more balanced with 6 defenders, 1 midfielder and 3 strikers and we were absolute guff. I can't imagine Burrows and Taggart said anything different to them in terms of playing it tight at the back. We just had a fookin shockin game, like we often do. That's down to bad team selection, bad management and piss poor players but not necessarily defensive tactics per say.
