Reserves Tonight.....

Does anyone know who is in the squad tonight??

Its normally on the official site by now. I wonder if Holloway is likely to pick the team so he can watch the players he has not seen play yet. Maybe a chance for some fringe/young players to shine in front of the new boss.

Can't make it tonight but hope somebody (normally Thracian) will give their normal sterling report on the game.

Would like to see Sappleton, Chambers, KAebi, Odihiambo all make claims for a place in the squad on Saturday. Want Kaebi to be playing on the right. Maybe now Djeziri has possibly left, Odihiambo will switch to the left wing and Kaebi play on the right.

Depending who is fit:

Hendo

Cox

Garner

Rowe-Turner

Maybury

Kaebi

Hayes

Hellings

Odihiambo

Chambers

Sappleton

A great chance for the midfield and strikers to stake a claim and with the current injuries/suspension, they have all got a chance of getting in the team for Saturday.

Hope that means Kaebi is playing right wing!! Maybury and N'Gotty will surely play in defence with Garner and Rowe-Turner I guess. They'll line up like this I would have thought:

Hendo

N'Gotty

Garner

Rowe-Turner

Maybury

Kaebi

King

Hellings

Hayes

Sapps

Chambers

Not too different to what I said before. I think this confirms that Djeziri as well as Ferreira have left the club.

It certainly seems like they'll be trying Kaebi right midfield which is the position he just might make some impact. Despite what TPH might think I wish him luck.

Opportunity is also being taken to keep first team contenders like King, Hayes, Sappleton and Chambers properly fit and involved.

Seems to that Holloway says to hell with the idea of first team players being too good for the reserves. On paper it looks quite a strong team.

They've even got Henderson in goal which makes sense considering what little match action he's been getting.

Good to see McKay back on the bench so soon after injury and the possibility of his teaming up with Odhiambo at some stage.

I hope Maybury plays well - he's our best right back IMO. Hopefully Holloway can get the best out him.

I'd like to agree but Mayburys not played well for us for a long time.

I seriously hope Ka'ebi proves you wrong, just as so many others have done.

Can't think of any player who's proved me wrong to be honest.

And it's hardly likely with Kaebi because I've never judged him as a right midfielder and said many times that I'd like to see how he plays there.

I think the damage has been done with Maybury at Leicester. Can't seem him ever finding the motivation or form that will lead to him being a success here. It's a shame as he does have the ability, but it's his fault he's been absolute guff for the past year and a half.

Thankfully right back isn't one of our weaknesses. James Chambers is more than good enough if Stearman's 2 game revival doesn't continue.

All the youngsters you love who have proven themselves not to be up to it.

Hammond - whose case you championed and turned out to be a complete clown.

I've got to say I completely forgot about Chambers when I posted that - I was thinking back to last season.

That makes him our second best right back.

I take your points about him not playing well for a while, but I'd like to think Holloway could get the best out of him if he was given another chance.

Although Holloway may have other ideas about Maybury after he kicked out at Furlong and got sent off a couple of years ago.

Already discussed endlessly. I'll stick, thanks.

You raise a good point there. My opinion is that, from that moment onwards, Alan Maybury was a shadow of the player he was for us before hand. That incident happened just days/weeks after Levein had refused permission for him to join Sunderland or Wigan. His attitude completely changed after that. Now he get's skinned left, right and centre, his passing is mediocre at best and he can never be arsed to get forward and support the midfield.

Bet Thracian comes on and starts blaming Kaebi saying he didnt track down a man 50 passes before the goal and saying he was absolute guff.

That doesn't sound great. With a fairly strong side like we had out, I would have thought we should be battering teams like Huddersfield.

Ive been to the game tonight, and they did not play very well. They just never seemed to get going. There wer a few nice passages of play but that was about it. Hnderson was immense in goal and kept us in the game in the first half. Anfy King had a relatively decent game. Kaebi was disappointing at RM, he seemed very dejected and like he did not want ot play to be honest. This worried me very much, considering now is his best chance to try to get in the team with holloway getting his 1st look at the squad. After he said on skysports that he may consider a move a away from city if his time in the reserves continues, i would not be surprised if this happens because, on his performance tonight he did not do enough to get into the 1st team. However, i think that if Holloway just gave him a chance in the 1st team he would be more alive and buzzing. Hayes was the best player on the pitch for me he showed some good skill, nice passes, great slide tackles and good determination. It was a sahme the rest of the players did not show the same desire.

Come on Thracian. Maybe he'll say how Kaebi played like a world-beater after playing right-wing and he scored from 25 yards after skinning 8 players in a 50 yard run!!

Bollocks. Maybe not!

How does he expect to get into the first team with an attitude like that? People are looking for him to set the reserves on fire but so far he has only produced a spark, if that. He doesn't deserve a chance for the first team, the big headed little twat
