I dont think they will go down they have some quality players who can keep them out of the relegation zone

They've got Mifsud that's about it.

Actually about 2 years ago they decided to go all out and launch 'operation premiership' whereby they spent a vast amount of money on players in the home that they got promoted within 2-3 years. if it didn't work they go bust. serves them right

:scarf:

I remember operation premiership but can't name one big name signing for them. In that same season, they sold McSheffrey to Birmingham for a fair few million (I think £2mill up front potentially rising to £4 mill) so that would have recouped a fair whack of money back in. It was more operation keep the wolf from the door.

As others have put it far better. Happy to move up a place if they go into administration, but wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Signed Ward for £1m

Leon McKenzie £1m

Kevin Kyle £600,000

Leon Best £650,000

McNamee £100,000

Simpson £40,000

Wayne Andrews, Mikkel Bischoff, Andy Marshall, Colin Cameron, Jay Tabb, Michael Hughes, Birchall, De Zeeuw, Cairo, Mifsud, Konstantopolous, Borrowdale, PLUS MANY more, not to mention loanees who would have demanded fees all with hefty wages I imagine

All signed (as mentioned plus way more) in the last two years. Now for a club in a perilous financial position I think it serves them right that they have been spending so frivelously, so what if they got £4m for McSheffrey, they should have saved the money

How much money did we spend in the last few years before Milan took over? Next to nothing.

As I said before, serves them right

Given the choice, we would have much rather bought some good players in. No-one was happy that we could only buy garbage for 3 years.

But we didn't spend big on bringing players in, we didn't have delusions of grandeur and knew our place, keeping the purse strings tight.

Coventry have been completely idiotic and deserve everything they get.

Kinda their fault for spending quite alot on players and wages without proper funding.

Jobs could be lost which is harsh especially at this time of the year.

Would be nice to move up a place though but administration is harsh on any team even if it is Covscum.

Might not even happen yet.

I agree with JTB, it's only good because it puts us up a place in the table.

I'd never wish administration on any team.

i Agree but now there down there... Let's all have a good laugh ay

On the radio today they want DOWIE out, they blame him for their current form.

They jeered us when the Fox Trust (bless 'em)were on the pitch when we played them, when we were in admin the guy said over the microphone, "thanks cov I hope it never happens to you"...oops

There are share holders & debters holding the takeover up so it is simply a way of frightning them into it, wouldn't surprise me if Ransome now waited & picked it up even cheaper.

I'd be a bit more sympathetic if their supporters hadn't been so critical of us when we were in administration.

I still take delight in reminding everyone that the head of the KPMG team that got us through our administration was a Cov fan

Not to knit pick or anything but it was Deloittes, i know the Bastards made me redundant!

It was comedy at the time they made me redundant the day before payday saying that there was no money to pay us but i was in the cash office the day before and saw the 30 grand in the safe!

The thing that pisses me off about it is that the Cov fans will come on here or other forums saying that we shouldn't take the piss because we've been there before. That aint right we never chose to go into admin i saw the board meeting minutes where it was decided and it was protective administration or liquidation as Eric Hall had issued a winding up order due to us not paying him for that little twat!

My point is everyone is entitled to laugh at Cov, there doing it to clear debts not because there being forced like us to it's a joke!

The only pride I take is that their moronic fans who took the piss out of us for our spell in Admin will know the feeling. Feel sorry for the club itself though.

I agree.

Its bad for the non-footballing staff who will inevitably suffer more than the footballing staff.
