Thracian Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I did say if everyone was fit and available. I know you did. I was just keeping you up to date given you've been away.
Geo V Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I know you did. I was just keeping you up to date given you've been away. Thats nice of you. Is Kaebi still shite in your eyes?
WetFlannel Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Hopefully: ------------------------God------------------------------ Chambers?------Kisnorbo-Mcauley------------Mattock Wesolowski-----------Clemence---------------Sheehan ----------------------------King--------------------------- --------------------Hume---------John?/Campbell?----- ? = If fit...
Thracian Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Thats nice of you. Is Kaebi still shite in your eyes? Do I think he's shite? It doesn't matter if he's shite as a full-back because there are about six players in front of him for that shirt - without counting any under 18's. But at right midfield I could make as strong a case for him as some others who've already used there. Trouble is all the qualities he has that would rate a plus, like blistering pace, close control, passing and moving ability, willingness to get in the box, are countered by the things he lacks like defensive reliability, powerhouse tackling and quite possibly sufficient strength and stamina to last an intense 90 minutes.
Milans Foxes Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Why has everyone included clemence in their team?? He has had a nightmare the last few games. If anyone else had played that bad, everyone would want them dropped. Put him on the bench for a couple of games and give him half an hour if needed. I don't think he is fully fit again yet. Also, Kisnorbo has not defended well the last two or three games. Arguably partly at fault for both goals against the saints. Putting a simple pass out for a throw-in for the first and not clearing before the penalty was given away. Also, why not play Kaebi. Holloway has said he wants to see everyone play so why not?? Fulop Chambers (if fit)/Stearman Mcauley N'Gotty Sheehan Kaebi Hume King Hayes John/Cort Campbell/Chambers Subs: Clemence Weso (if fit) Sappleton Kisnorbo other fit striker (Chambers/Cort)
Jack Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Fulop N'Gotty McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock Stearman King Kenton Sheehan Hume Cort That team is assuming the same players are still injured and Fryatt is obviously suspended. I only put Stearman Rm because he is about the only option apart from Newton and i don't rate Newton at all and i don't think Chambers is ready to be playing first team football at this moment in time.
Raj Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 1 GK...FULOP 4 DEFENDERS...ANY WILL DO! 4 MIDFIELDERS.....YEAH...WHATEVER! 2 STRIKERS...WHICHEVER ARE FIT. SORTED!
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I love people who still put Kaebi in the team. I reckon these people still beleive in Santa.
Asha Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I love people who still put Kaebi in the team. I reckon these people still beleive in Santa. I believe people who believe in Santa believe in the tooth fairy and other beliefs too. I believe i'm more of a proof person. Unbelievably, i don't believe anything. At all. Let's get over it, Kaebi's shit anyway. I believe
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 1 GK...FULOP4 DEFENDERS...ANY WILL DO! 4 MIDFIELDERS.....YEAH...WHATEVER! 2 STRIKERS...WHICHEVER ARE FIT. SORTED! GET THIS GUY IN NOW !!! Imagine his team talk ... Rite lads, go out and score some goals please
Fat Ron Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 . .I'd really like to see Ollie be slightly adventurous and pick this squad:Fulop Stearman, Kissa, McAuley, Bruno Kenton, Clem, King, Sheehan Hume Sappleton Subs: Mattock, A.Chambers, J.Chambers, Maybury, Hellings/Kaebi/Hendo The only 2 positions where we have more than 1 player available and you would prefer to see a defender as an attacking Winger and a right sided player at Left Back... Priceless!!!
mancunianfox Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 It'll never happen but I like 4-3-3, especially as West Brom have so many defenders out. Fulop Stearman N'Gotty Mcauley Sheehan Wesolowski King Clemence Hume Cort Hayes Henderson, Kisnorbo, Kenton, Chambers, Sapplezilla
Tommeh Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 -----------------------Fulop-------------------------- --J Chambers----McAuley---N'Gotty----Sheehan-- --A Chambers----Clamance---King----Hayes-- ------------------Hume-----Campbell----------------

Don't see the point in dropping Stearman to rush back an injured player after he was one of our better players on Tuesday. Bit of a kick in the balls that.

Don't see the point in dropping Stearman to rush back an injured player after he was one of our better players on Tuesday. Bit of a kick in the balls that. Not sure tbh. I put them in more in hope than expectation. If they are out then sure stearman and cort back in. Thought stearman did ok on tuesday but to me chambers offers so much more energy down the right and its certainly what we've been lacking. Didn't want to drop cort either who also did well on tuesday but I think a couple of games break would do him good after olly spoke of "rushing him back" for the Soton game.

If I were asking James Chambers in I'd play him at RM and Stearman at RB. That has to be more effective than Kenton at RM. Stearman hasn't really done too much wrong and there are far bigger culprits for our lack of success than him.
Joe. Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 If it was me I'd prefer to see Chambers at RM and Kenton at RB.
Thracian Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 It's so hard to know who's fit I'd almost say Fulop and 10 others. Anyway: Fulop; Stearman, McAuley, N'Gotty, Mattock; King, Clemence, Sheehan; Hume, Cort, Campbell. Subs: Kenton. Kisnorbo, Ashley Chambers, Wesolowski, Odhiambo/Hayes (if fit). I'm assuming James Chambers and John are all unfit. Reasons: we need to have passers in central defence because we can't keep giving the ball away so easily. Sheehan is not a winger. Neither is Hume. So there's no point in playing wingers. Besides our forwards aren't good enough on their own. Hume and Campbell offer pace, King and Sheehan offer supply and every one of our front six are reasonably capable of scoring. Everyone plays in a natural position, there's no-one having to improvise and we have a pretty even mixture of defenders/attackers, most of whom look capable of supporting. With at least three from McAuley, N'Gotty, King and Cort up for Sheehan's dead ball kicks we've plenty of threat leaving Hume to go near post. Chambers can be introduced for pace on the wing or up front and Odhiambo could do the same if Hayes has not recovered . I'd have no problem with Kenton playing ahead of Clemence but have chosen the captain but he gets into shooting positions more than Kenton. I'm not sure he's as good defensively though so I wouldn't mind either. Wesolowski would be a replacement for any midfielder who tires or has an off day and both Sheehan and King have experience of playing out wide if really necessary on odd occasions. Stearman and Mattock are fit enough to provide width on the flanks with King and Sheehan perfectly capable of covering.
Thracian Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 Seven defenders then. I don't see King as a defender. He was very much an attacker in his Academy days grabbing around eightgoals a season and supplying plenty for the likes of McKay, Odhiambo, Gradel and Chambers. In emergencies he's shown himself perfectly competent in defence - which helps make him such a useful all round player - and the first team have eased him into senior football as a basically holding player. But King is an attacker when given the chance. As his goal against Southampton gave a glimpse of. Sheehan too, given 3/4 attackers around him, should find targets for his passes more easily too and, playing more as a wing-half/inside forward should find it easier to get into scoring positions than if he plays wider as one of four. PS: If Campbell's not fit I'd have Hume/Cort as central strikers with Chambers/Kaebi alongside depending on fitness considerations.

I was going with Fulop, Stearman, Mattock, N'Gotty, McAuley, Sheehan and Clemence because I assumed your nine defenders against Burnley included Fulop and Clemence? Can't have involved Cort, King, Hume or Ashley Chambers surely?
mancunianfox Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 If it was me I'd prefer to see Chambers at RM and Kenton at RB. I must have been watching a game in a parallel universe when Stearman crossed the ball for Hume's goal on tuesday night.

Can't have involved Cort, King, Hume or Ashley Chambers surely? It certainly seemed to me that Sheehan was used mainly in a defensive role against Burnley and, yes, Clemence is defensive and would be in my team. With three up front and King that is four attackers plus Sheehan in a more attacking role. That attacking threat would be reduced if he played full-back or as a wide partner for Mattock because, as against Quorn in the pre-season friendly, he would get many shooting positions. You've only got to watch the pre-match shooting and accurately Sheehan can hit a ball given chance. Why neutralise that? It's a waste just as playing Kings as a full-time defender is a waste.
