Leicester Lass Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1186440,00.html Leicester City manager Ian Holloway says he was left full of encouragement despite seeing his side go down 2-1 to West Bromwich Albion at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday. Iain Hume's second half header set up a grandstand finish to the game - with City looking the more likely to go on and win the contest. But a moment of magic from Baggies substitute Craig Beattie two minutes from time secured the points for the visitors on the day. Speaking in his post match press conference. Holloway said: "I was unbelievably encouraged by the way that we played today and I am in a little bit of shock as to how we have ended up losing that game. http://' target="_blank">"I looked up at the crowd when there was five minutes left on the clock and they were all right behind what we were doing. The volume level was right up. But then we got a bit of a thwack in the nethers. That's how I feel. "The way I feel at the moment is not a feeling that I want for much longer in my life I have to say. "I have seen us play three games at home and we have deserved at least seven points from them if I am accurate in my assessment of things. I don't think we deserved to lose today. "I thought the crowd were spectacular - absolutely outstanding. They got right behind the lads. "I can't thank the people enough. I said one or two things and just look at the response we got from Carl Cort today. That's three games in the last week that he has played and he was terrific. "We went one down to a terrific goal. It was a fantastic little jink and a cross and Gera got in at the far post. You look at West Brom and where they are and that is the difference really. "We have got some injuries and we have got a lot of young players in the squad. The average age of the team was 24 today, which is quite amazing. "My job is to get the most out of these people that I can and to be fair I can't ask for much more than that." Ollie also had news on James Wesolowski, who was forced to limp out of the game at the end of the first half. He added: "James has aggravated his hamstring which is a big blow for us. It looks as though he will be out for the next couple of games, which is very disappointing."
The Stig Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 SPOT ON. Everthing he said echoed my thoughts entirely. We have the right man in charge.
Simi Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 "I have seen us play three games at home and we have deserved at least seven points from them if I am accurate in my assessment of things. Sorry Olly, but no, we didn't.
Calum McDermott Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Too positive... our midfield is non existent
Matt Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 "I can't thank the people enough. I said one or two things and just look at the response we got from Carl Cort today. That's three games in the last week that he has played and he was terrific. Right I know we've been told to get behind Carl Cort, e.t.c, and I didn't boo but I didn't shout positive things for him either. But I don't think Ollie is watching the same Carl Cort as me, He was poor again today, except it's not necessarily that he's poor that pisses me off, it's the fact he's lazy or looks lazy and just gives that impression.... He wants the ball to come to him, he doesn't run to the ball... This sounds abit funny but even when the ball isn't anywhere near him and he's just watching the game, when he's standing he just looks lazy.
Father Ted Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Sorry Olly, but no, we didn't. Totally agree! More like we deserved 0 points! Olly is just a Bullsh*t talker and I haven't got a clue why he is doing it. Especially the way he refers to Carl Cort in there and the post above about our home games.
MADLEVEIN Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 5 points maybe, he is on a hiding to nothing though, thats why megson jumped ship cos he knew how poor the players are. imo holloway needs january transfer window and pre-season next year to make a go of things and he deserves to get that time.

Kilworthfox Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Right I know we've been told to get behind Carl Cort, e.t.c, and I didn't boo but I didn't shout positive things for him either. Koke Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Ollie is trying to be optimistic. He can come out and slate everyone from Carl Cort to Richard Stearman to the tea lady, but that'll be no good. He got his hands tied and can't do anything until the window opens. But we got 6 games or so to play before that. So he's trying to get the maxium out of the bunch of useless ****ers we have here. Only thing he can do is build their confidence and increase their work-rate. And to me that's what he is doing.

We barely created a single chance and only had one decent goalscoring effort from a free-kick that I can recall. Even the goal was worse than scrappy. They scored two excellent goals, had other near things and generally passed the ball far better and more menacingly. They defended high up the field and got more men forward. Ollie's in dreamland.
Foxy1984 Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 Why can't he just be slightly more honest and say that we were fairly poor for the majority of the game.. but the effort and drivewe showed after we scored is a lot more like it. Maybe that's what he's said to the players privately... but a tiny bit more honesty in public would be good. He's painting the picture a bit too rosey for me..

I'm afraid you guys are seeing the BS which comes with the little man. I think Milan has made a big mistake in choosing Gollum to lead you, he's says he's all about loyalty and honesty but really he's a Bullsh--ing liar, and unfortunately you guys will have to go through the lies and BS. He had a much better team before but left whilst still declaring his love and loyalty, he just wants his £ and an easy ride, but you already see he is just average. In January he won't pull off any miracles, but he will have lots of Ollie'isms to promote himself and he will end up with some 3rd tier outfit where once again he will spout the same drivel as he did at Rovers, QPR and Argyle. Players come and go even Manderich will go one day and Hollowords will go even sooner it is a fact the only constant are the fans. I give him 4 more defeats befor Milan kicks his but into touch. I expect Ipswich will be number 1 Hope you get a real manager next time and get yourselves back in the Prem where you belong.

The Stig Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 SPOT ON. Everthing he said echoed my thoughts entirely. We have the right man in charge. Hang on, I disagree with my self. Cardiff we should have won so 3. Saints we were unlucky not to draw, but still to deserved to lose, however we wouldn't have lost but for the ref, so 1 and yesterday they were the better team all over the pitch so we deserved to lose, however agin we were unlucky not to pick up what would've been a lucky point. IMO we deserved 4 points, so no Ollie you are being a tad optamistic.
Lillehamring Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Average age is 24? I didn't even realize that. That makes West Brom even more impressive. it's funny, people tend to focus on the likes of mattock et al. but youth is widespread. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...c=44468&hl= perhaps people should remember this when laying in to stearman...

The Stig Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 give it up, mate.... it's sunday morning... So Ollie thinks 7, I think 4 and you think less! We're an optamistic bunch aren't we
Yaxx Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 So Ollie thinks 7, I think 4 and you think less! We're an optamistic bunch aren't we Either way, Olly's still talking bollocks.
Lillehamring Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 So Ollie thinks 7, I think 4 and you think less! We're an optamistic bunch aren't we ha, i hadn't considered it, i was concerned about your maths....
Anish Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 At least we have Fryatt back for Tuesday so hopefully there will be no more Carl Cort Don't be so sure about that. The way Ollie has praised Cort after every game suggests that it's MDV and Levein all over again i.e. no matter how poor Cort plays, Ollie will still stick him in the team. It's almost got to the point where Cort has to start just so Ollie saves face. Yes I know we've had injuries/suspensions with other strikers but even still, is Cort really fit enough to play 3 times in a week? From my reckoning, we've not won a single match that Cort has started. Now I'm not laying the blame solely on him but it's a bit more than a coincidence if you ask me.
