The 2 centre back ysterday were the best payers. And stearman is woeful at the mo.

That's been the perception for a long time and I wouldn't mind the suggestion of N'Gotty plus one of Kisnorbo/McAuley. But irrespective of how good they are within the team (defensively they're sometimes okay, offensively they're awful) so often, they are a root cause of our problem, ie playing the ball constructively out of defence instead of forever risking giving it to the opposition.

How can people say that Kaebi "deserves" to be bought into the side?

:dunno:

Ollies giving everyone a chance by the sounds of it, Kaebi deserves his chance just as much as any one else ?

Yes, but from the reports that I have read Kaebi has done nothing to make himself a contender to be part of the team. Where as people he has given a chance to like Sappleton and Chambers have been on form in the reserves and under 18's.

Chambers should definitely be above Kaebi in the pecking order for right back, especially now we have a flat back four.

All the people on here who have SEEN Kaebi play say he is not ready. People who HAVEN'T seen him play say he should play. Martin Allen, Gary Megson and Ian Holloway didn't / aren't playing him so it certainly doesn't sound like he deserves a place in the team.

As I've said, the squad isn't really good enough. The club was poorly managed in the summer and it is this which I pin the blames for our woes upon. Now we just have to deal with the shit with got.

Frankly I have no idea how to approach the current situation. There doesn't seem to be any fitting solution. Every single one of our players has gaping flaws.

I think all I could do would be to build the team up bit by bit, by looking at the players who have made the most telling contributions this season.

I'd start by scratching off the list all those who weren't 100% fit.

Then like I said, lego block style picking. Fulop is a natural starter. Sheehan would take the left back berth for his freekicks if nothing else, Thracian isn't wrong to say that statistically he's probably our most dangerous player. I'd cast a very careful eye over Stearman and have a lengthy chat with him... Chambers would go in if he was fit, but he might falter at the first hurdle I set. If not I guess I'd plump for N'Gotty. At centreback... well. Kisnorbo and McAuley are excellent stoppers, and both present a goal threat. The main letdown is definately distribution. I can't see why that isn't something which can be rectified.

Perhaps playing a holding midfielder would rectify the problem, by giving the defense someone to distribute to? I'd sit Clemence in front of the backline, where he played for Brum. He clearly can't deal with being the creative midfielder so why bother? Talking of which, that's problemo numero uno. I'd go for King right now, he uses the ball well. Who else does it leave anyway? Wesolowski needs time to regain full fitness, clearly. Definately King. I'd do my best to play wingers as well... I'd take a long hard look at Kaebi and find out whatever the fook it is that's stopping him getting in the team. Then, frankly, probably play him anyway. If there was some problem, I'd have the decency to come out and tell the fans why the star of the summer switches for us is yet to start. Wankers. Hume would be second choice I think. On the left... Hayes I guess, but this is problem number 2. Definately a berth which needs filling in summer.

Up front... Fryatt has impressed me most. Campbell seems alright, and Cort has his moments. Fryatt and Campbell I guess, but the problem with our strikers is, none of them look like striking up a partnership.

The transfer window would be key. I'd be looking into an attacking central midfielder and a left winger as priority, with a striker and right winger desirable as well.

Hmm I forgot Collins John... him and Fryatt.

The big problem is - who the hell do you play in their place?

Due to injury probs, Fryatt's suspension, where does that leave us :dunno:

People keep going on about the foreign players we bought in during the summer.

Kaebi, Ferrari and that other player who's name I can't remember.

Let's face it, MA, GM and IH have all had chance to look at them, not one of them has given them a run in the first team yet.

If three managers think their not good enough then why did we get them anyway. :dunno:

Yes, Stearman did make a howler on Saturday but he was not the only player on the pitch that made basic errors.

I recall at one point during the second half Hume put a really good header into the edge of the box, there was no one remotely near the ball.

Any striker worth his salt would have been in that area, this again is just basic football.

We have to many players that do not think about the game in a positive manner.

When we're pushing forward, the ball inevitably ends up being passed backward, due to lack of anyone having the basic footballing logic

of moving into a potentially attacking space.

We can all see what is wrong with the team, even IH has spotted where our problems lie.

The problem is he has to work with the tools he has at present.

Cannot blame him for that, you can only blame MA for bringing in so many poor players.

The problem IH has in January is how to get rid of some of our poor players.

Who would want to buy them?

Would the players pay demands put them off?

All we can do for now is simply get behind the Team, Manager and Owner, hope and pray that within the next few months we see an improvement.

lol at me about to compare Makelele with Kenton but the point is that a player playing well doesn't mean he shouldn't be dropped if it means the complete system changes for the positive. Makelele is great at what he does but offers little going forward. Likewise with Lampard and Gerrard both solid attacking midfielders but together they throw the balance of the squad so basically what I am saying is punt Kenton out and get two midfielders in that know the position and can offer a more all round game.

I`d have kept Stearman in had we not had 30 right-backs so I`d like Chambers to get a run as right-back with Kaebi playing ahead of him although we all know he is destined to leave us with little first team action under his belt. Sheehan should start on the left and Cort despite decent recent form doesn't score enough.
