It's up to you. With many people debating about certain players and whether they played well and whether they didn't, whether they should be in the team or not, etc. Hopefully this poll will resolve this.

Marton Fullop!

How he continually gets in the side i will never know! He conceded again today! Send him back to Poland I say!

We do not have the right personnell to drop people left right and centre. Half of our striker force is either out injured or suspended. Our midfield are mediocre and we are relying on kids to produce something.

Ollie has to stick with more or less the same team for the up coming games. Maybe drop the fool at RB and play Chambers or whoever, and I wouldn't mind Andy King playing in the middle as well. Jonathan Hayes is the only proper out and out winger we have so he should play too, depends on his fitness of course.

STEARMAN WAS SHIT

Bring in james chamber when fit

And Fryatt for cort and we will be ok!

ANd Hayes wide left and weso or clem drop to bench

Posted

I'd go for dropping **** and replacing him with the returnig from suspension Fryatt

Stearman to the bench, Kenton to right-back and Sheehan on the left flank

Then replace A.Chambers with J.Chambers :dunno: until we have some more strikers back then Hume to go on the right side with John/DJ up front with Fryatt

Where would you start and how would you field a team given our injury list?

Besides, this is much more serious than simply dropping players and replacing them with questionable alternatives.

We've got to:

a) Stop changing the team like a prostitute changing her knickers.

b) Stop EVER fielding players who are unfit UNLESS there is no alternative.

c) Stop playing people out of position

d) Play a system that suits OUR players not OUR MANAGER at any given time.

e) Go forward and back AS A TEAM

f) Offer far more support to the strikers when we attack

g) Use our most EFFECTIVE players and show some faith in them.

h) Introduce far more movement into our play

i) Pass the ball faster. Two touches AT MOST most til the front third.

j) Make sure each player know exactly what is wanted from him when we have/lose the ball.

k) Make sure the team knows how to react to any change in the game.

l) Shoot far more quickly and often from attacking midfield areas. We're not good enough to wait for tap ins.

That is 12 mostly easily accomplished things that can be effected or started immediately.

Some I've mentioned before and I hope they're not ignored this time.

However, from our supposedly available players just now I would be fielding:

Fulop;

Chambers, N'Gotty, Stearman, Sheehan;

King, Clemence, Hayes;

Kaebi, Hume, Cort.

subs: Kisnorbo, Mattock, Kenton, Chambers, Campbell/Odhiambo.

Basically I've had enough of mix and match. Given our abject failure to improve and give that most people are not improving their weaknesses I'd rebuild the team based on firm principles. And the starting principle would be to pick players who could pass the ball properly from back to front.

I would introduce a fit team which would be collectively faster that at present.

I would have support for the strikers both from alongside and from behind.

I'd have people who could and would shoot and score goals.

I'd have players who were fast enough to play higher up the park and recover if we lost possession.

There is no point keep making changes without having an end in mind - a proper style and pattern to our game.

This approach would start to establish the fast pass and move style I believe in.

Kaebi up front? Each to their own.

Our problem is we aren't playing a properly balanced formation. Playing people out of position is ok, for 20 mins or 1 game in an emergency.

We need to play with 2 out and out wingers and two central midfielders.

We haven't got a right winger without bringing Gradel back.

I don't see Chambers as a winger although he can play there.

However, a major problem with our team is the constant lack of movement - runs from deep, runs across the back of players, decoy runs etc.

The ONLY currently fit player in our first team squad who makes such runs is Kaebi, at least I think he's fit. He goes into awkward places and he does it quickly. and when he gets there he's got the quick feet to make something of it.

I can fill a chapter talking about his faults would be to use people who have strengths and to make the most of them.

I'm not sure it would work out for Kaebi but I'd sure find out.

The only other player who makes really good runs is Billy KcKay and he's not strong enough yet and he's not even in the squad.

Stearman is a fuc king liability. He's shit and he still seems to get in the side.

He was at fault for both Southampton goals last week - and he defended like a complete arse against Brunt for WBA's first goal.

Pushing that aside, I honestly don't see what people see in him. He equally inept defensively and offensively.

the only problem with the top half of what you said... the bullet points, is that it requires knowledge. Now, Knowledge can be attained. thats not a problem, but skill is needed as wekk and if the skills isnt there, all the knowledge in the world wont help us..... i just hope the skill IS there and that they find it!!!!!!!

The 2 centre back ysterday were the best payers. And stearman is woeful at the mo.

Richard Stearman needs to be dropped. Now. Completely exposed for the first goal and was a liability both defending at going forward. The sooner our management team the better, Chambers is a much better right back and he needs to be playing frim now on.

If Carl Cort is going to play then he is going to need more help from Iain Hume or whoever is up there with him. Even if Cort would of won every single header yesterday we would of still got nowhere because nobody was reading the game and anticipating. I'd like to see DJ back in, maybe with John, if not Hume.

Fact is, most of this side are just not good enough and they never will be. Unless we make some miraculous signings in January, I don't see us challenging for anything of note.

In my eyes they were two of the worst. Did you watch the same game?

Personally I thought Kisnorbo and McAuley were pretty poor yesterday.

Their distribution gets worse every week. So many times we just needed the ball to be kept on the floor but they both lacked composure and seemed to just take the easy option and hoof it out of the danger zone, which smacks a lack of confidence. We need them both to be able to slow the game down when we need to and actually feed the ball through the midfield. West Brom were awesome at that yesterday. When we put them under pressure they would just pass it wide and then look for a ball. Something we need to learn from and quickly.

Very harsh on N Gotty I think. He seemed very solid at the back for us. If he does come in then I'd expect to see McAuley go, but he arguably had a better (less poorer) game than Kisnorbo.

I love Thracian's lists. But I especially like this comment.
