MrandMrsF Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I havn't seen anyone question the penalty on this forum. I have just seen the highlights and it appears to me that N'Gotty clearly gets the ball first. I know its "papering over the cracks" and I'm also a big believer in Arnold Palmers saying "The more I practise, the more I seem to get lucky". But we do seem to have had more than a fair share of bad decisions lately. Would that have been given against Man U? I don't think so. And if it was, we would still be listening to the cufuffle now !!!

But another bad decision would only reflect the way things are going for us at the moment. For whatever reason. Truth is referees would have less chance of winning games for the opposition if we spent more time at the other end.
Babylon Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Truth is referees would have less chance of winning games for the opposition if we spent more time at the other end. How true... although they have also done a good job of ruling out good penno appeals and goals for us also. It's a conspiracy I tell thee, a conspiracy. Oh and we are shit.

I wouldnt say N'Gotty got the ball, but that their guy won it, and stumbled, and decided to throw himself on the floor. And Sheehan should have buried his chance with that left foot of his. And McAuley, you tosser.

I think he was gobsmacked that Clemance had played it back to him instead of getting rid. For me definitely not a penalty - player dived. N'Gotty whilst clowning around did touch the ball away from him without touching the player. 3 dubious penalties in what must be 4 games - whilst we are piss poor right now - thats some bad luck.
Guest Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 It may or may not have been dubious, but it was saved so justice was done. For me, the sickening part of the whole incident was the fact that not one of our players reacted, inviting each and every Hull player to have a go at getting the rebound in. Disgusted? Just a bit.

I certainly wouldn't exonerate Clemence any more than for his reaction to the Kaebi pass that almost cost a goal. Fez says King reminds him of Hughes but it's Clemence who really acts the clone. He gets the ball and goes nowhere. Back pass here, squaere pass there and all of no consequence at all. King might have been too one paced and he might have drifted in and out of proceedings but he did try to play some forward passes and if Cort had been anything like the striker we need, King would at least have collected a decent assist.

I see what you're doing here madam. You're trying to make Fludie believe you attended the game.

If a defender blocks it then credit to him. Kisnorbo does it all the time. Totally different to centre-forward Cort having a free header 10 or 12 yards from goal and failing to get it anywhere near the sodding target.

I feel the you point of view would have been a whole lot different had the person who hit the shot been Kaebi...
Guest Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 3 dubious penalties in what must be 4 games - whilst we are piss poor right now - thats some bad luck. You make your own luck; if Kisnorbo hadn't been tugging away on shirts on Tuesday, the linesman may have seen things differently. If N'Gotty hadn't tried playing his way out of defence, he wouldn't have got himself into trouble. Blaming the officials is just papering over the cracks, nay, chasms.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I feel the you point of view would have been a whole lot different had the person who hit the shot been Kaebi... Of course it would. We grow to expect these things. Thracian Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I feel the you point of view would have been a whole lot different had the person who hit the shot been Kaebi... No it wouldn't. It would be rare circumstances to make me criticised anyone for having a good shot saved, blocked or deflected.
danny. Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 just watched it, blantant dive, it was comical
Thracian Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 just watched it, blantant dive, it was comical Clearly the ref saw the funny side and joined in the spirit of the thing.
Simi Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 N'Gotty shouldn't of been pissing around with it in the first place, there was an easy ball on. I'm more pissed off at McAuley for the first goal, that was comical.
Jonezy Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Just seen the highlights on World. If the first goal was offside, Foran didn't get any advantage anyway, as McAuley should had been first to the ball. Crap defending. Sheehan chance was not a 100%, so he can be excused for not scoring. The penalty decision was another joke, their player falls like he has been shot without any contact after he lost the ball. Not that we really deserve otherwise at the moment, but 3 dubious penalty decisions against us in 5 games is ridiculous. Imagine how Benitez would blow up, if it happend to Liverpool.......
Staf Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 I think N'Gotty got the ball aswell but the luck we are having im not suprised it was given
jonw88 Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Surely we're due a penalty fairly soon, they all seem to be going against us. However, if we actually got in the opposition's box instead of fooking around passing back to the goalie instead of attacking, we might get a few lucky decisions coming our way.
Guest Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Is that Chas'm Dave? Weren't they sitting behind us you?
Hullfox Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Weren't they sitting behind us you? No, that was Statler and Waldorf about 15 rows back from us me
