Asha Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 And an all Ferrari front row. Time to set the alarm. Grid for tomorrow Will be on live chat tomorrow morning for race, if everyone else is.
Asha Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Once again, i have put the result in spoilers, in case people are watching the replay. The points finishers: 1 Kimi Raikkonen 2 Robert Kubica 3 Heikki Kovalainen 4 Jarno Trulli 5 Lewis Hamilton 6 Nick Heidfeld 7 Mark Webber 8 Fernando Alonso Hamilton still leads championship, but only by three points to Raikkonen. For anyone who's been watching, what happened to Raikkonen on the podium? Seemed like he got champagne in his eye or something
Asha Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 He managed to get the champagne under his eyelid! Thought as much, bless him.
Stuliasz Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Possible future headline: "Kimi Raikkonen (eye) is ruled out of the next race"
SamL Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Was a pretty good race. Shame for Massa but a very good drive by Raikkonen in the end. Hamilton might have been able to push for a podium had it not been for a pit mistake.
lildave3 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Shame for Hamilton that wheel wouldn't come off really. Good drives from Kubica and Webber though.
The Stig Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Interesting tactically but the problem with these new wide circuits is when the cars get spread out we see no overtaking. Anyway looking forward to Bahrain, lets hope we see some more pace in the Mclaren's.

lildave3 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I thought Hammond didn't even like F1? Or was that May?
The Stig Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 I thought Hammond didn't even like F1? Or was that May? None of the Top Gear boys like it. I don't want Lineker either. It would take him off MOTD and he's a football man, not F1. Don't want Logan either.

Don't want Logan either. Lineker is the face of most sport on the BBC, although id probably stick with Rider even though he has a face of a squirrel.

The Stig Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Clarkson does, i'm sure of that. Yeah you're probably right actually. He does give you that impression although he's quick enough to slag it off. I'd like to see a red button feature. Top Gear commentary, and a Clarkson grid-walk.
isaidno Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It sounds like it's going to be Jim Rosenthal. ITV aren't offering him a new contract so he's likely to go BBC.
The Stig Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 It sounds like it's going to be Jim Rosenthal. ITV aren't offering him a new contract so he's likely to go BBC. Quite possible. But he prefers football so might not want to and the BBC may want some new blood, someone who can stay in the job long term. Jim's getting on a bit. I'd be quite happy if he did get the job, he's better than Rider for me.

Iv had a bit of a look into it and when the BBC lost the rights to ITV, ITV took with the sport, the commentators, Brundle and Murray. I know Rider is ITV Contracted but im not so sure about Brundle, Allen or any of the others. They may just cover the "British" audiences and move where the sport does so maybe we will have the same people doing it next year apart from Stevie boy but i don't like him anyways, make Brundle the presenter and commentator with Allen, makes sense to me, least they know what their talking about! (sorry about poor spelling, im ever so slighty drunk )
Floating Fox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 (sorry about poor spelling, im ever so slighty drunk ) Celebrating Fisi' result?

The only person ITV took was Walker and Tony Jardine although Jardine was freelance anyway. The rest ITV appointed. Martin Brundle is not a presenter, he's a pundit and sholuld be used as such. Allen is a below par commentator. He is a journalist not a commentator and should go back to being a journalist or a pit reporter. He's very good at both of those jobs. I'd be surprised if the BBC didn't get Brundle and possible Ted Kravitz. This would be my line up Presenter: Steve Rider / John Inverdale / Jim Rosenthal Pundits: Damon Hill and Johnny Herbet Commentator: Ben Edwards / David Croft Co Commentator: Martin Brundle Pit Reporters: Ted Kravitz and James Allen.
isaidno Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 I would have Ben Edwards as commentator. Charlie Cox is good aswell.
isaidno Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 This is a good site for F1 wallpapers http://www.f1-fansite.com/wallpaper/2008/wallpaper0108.asp
