isaidno Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 Just for you , LFF Jarno Trulli admits he is concerned that his Toyota TF108’s battery may overheat again in the sweltering temperatures of Malaysia and wreck a second successive race. The Italian’s chances of scoring a strong points finish from sixth on the grid in Melbourne were dashed when his car’s battery failed during his first pit stop after 19 laps. And he admits he is worried that the problem may reoccur if the Sepang climate serves up its usual hot and humid conditions. “I am worried,” he told Formula 1’s official website. “I hope that we can solve the problem, but to be honest, I am a little concerned about it. “Sure I want that problem to disappear, as the next race could be even hotter than Melbourne and if the battery stays so vulnerable to heat we can say goodbye to good results.” Trulli’s early retirement at Albert Park was particularly disappointing for the 33-year-old as he had been running as high as fifth on what had turned into a promising weekend for Toyota. But although he says the team has made a step forward with its latest car, warns that it is still going to have to work hard to just maintain its current position in the pecking order. “Yes, we have made good progress with the car but it is not enough yet, we still have to push in order to make the car quicker, and in particular work better on the tyres,” he said. “This is the main problem. “We are in the midfield battle with four or five teams where a little mistake can cost you a lot, and not making one, can gain you a lot. “And this year I definitely want to be on the gaining side!”
Father Ted Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 Ha. With traption control gone, when it was nice weather at Melbourne only 9 finished, how many are going to finish this week Maybe we should make a sweepstake?
General Smuts Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 Just for you , LFF I was well upset when he had to retire, hoping for rain now so it cools down a bit for him. And he'll win!
Brainy Posted 19 March 2008 Author Posted 19 March 2008 I was well upset when he had to retire, hoping for rain now so it cools down a bit for him. And he'll win! Still 24 degrees though expected on Sunday, although I reckon the last few races there have been even warmer?

billabob Posted 20 March 2008 Posted 20 March 2008 I actually swear absloutley blindly Murrey Walker was doing some commentry on Radio 5 last year. If not it was someone who sounds exactly like him. You're correct, he did indeed commentate on at least one of the races for them. Should be a good race, Force India to win! Well maybe not but we have more updates on the car so Q2 is a must!
Gené and Tonic Posted 20 March 2008 Posted 20 March 2008 How did you manage to get your job there btw? What qualifications are needed?

Perhaps im missing something here..? Ive seen the ITV 03 one on Youtube and I prefer that.
isaidno Posted 20 March 2008 Posted 20 March 2008 The music was symbolic for Formula 1. A bit like the match of the day theme or the BBC Cricket themes are
billabob Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 How did you manage to get your job there btw? What qualifications are needed? Well 3 of us were brought on board, 1 has electronics background and the other has a degree in motorsport engineering but me, well i just have A-Levels but even then, the most relevant to Formula one is Politics and i only got a D in that anyway! I honestly have no idea, but i managed to beat 67 other applicants with my CV and then 17 in the interview stages! I am only a "Junior" though so i'm being trained so maybe would'nt have got it had i got a house and what not to support but alas i don't so they brought me in (Watch Fisi this race, might cause a suprise)

Oh, and I doubt this will happen but if it did, I'd be in F1 heaven
