I was thinking of joining the gym at the Radmoor centre. What is the free weights section like?

Really? I used to go to LA in the rushes a few years ago and it had a pool.

Maybe it has then. To be honest the guy I spoke to in reception was complete and utter retard and told me the monthly fee changed from day to day. Put me right off. Asked him about facilities and he didn't mention a pool so I assumed there wasn't one.

I didn't really enjoy my time there. It was an ok place but it felt very sterile. It just didn't give you any motivation to continue going.

It's not bad actually; free weights section is good enough for most things. Has a bench press, a squatting rack, smith machine, the Arm-support-thing-for-bicep-curls (I can't remember what it's called), a couple of cable machines, one of those sit-up bench things, and dumbbells up to at least 40KG (possibly higher, I've just never got past the 36KG yet).

So yeah, pretty much has most things you will need, though there only tends to be one of each, so you might have a bit of a wait. Monday and Tuesday evenings are rammed, the rest of the week doesn't tend to be so bad though. Especially weekends, which are normally dead. I've used a fair amount of gyms, and in my opinion, the Radmoore is pretty good.

Pure gym generally does what it says on the tin. Have used a few given my constant moving around the country.

Not a regular sauna/steam room user. Go in for an hour and a had workout. Always something to get the blood pumping. Weight section does get packed however there's also a work out area which is used for classes which has a few barbells and free weights, along with kettle bells allowing you to get a good work out.

Cardio machines always available.

For a cheap and cheerful option couldn't recommend the place more.
