I think Jehst and Tommy just want to make love to each other. Like most men in gyms, really.

I second this. The steam room was my personal favourite.

I wish my gym had a steam room.

On a side note are you a "get the old chap out in the changing room and not give a shit" type or are you more a "I'm going to wrap this towel around me and not give anything away" type.

I'm the latter. Something about men who feel comfortable getting their bits out in front of random strangers makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I am definately the latter. There was a guy in there who spent more time ambling around the changing rooms exposing his pasty white arse than he did in the gym. However, I would never go into the private little booths, or make too much of a fuss about getting my shorts on under the towel, as people would obviously then think I have a tiny penis. The solution, therefore, is to get changed freely when (and only when) the changing room is full of old men. Thus, no fear of being embarrased.

The other thing that gets my goat in gyms, is that every single egotistical, weight lifting chump in the changing rooms eyes each other up in the gayest way possible. I swear, when I was at David Lloyd, the same guy 'accidentally' walked into my shower cubile atleast twice.

Homos.

Sir Fynwy has been told that he is the latter. I don't like the idea of him being the former. <_<

I am the female equivalent of the towel dresser, and can emerge fully dressed from under a towel, as if by magic. I really don't like these women who parade around the changing rooms in the all together, and think that there is something seriously wrong with women who do their hair and make up before putting on any clothing. Or stand around in groups chatting, in the buff. It is wrong.

Tiny penis rumours are a constant minefield for men! Like when you see people use a cubicle to take a piss instead of a urinal.

I was a victim of this rumour at school. It lasted 3 days, until I dispelled this myth by getting him out in PE. This is an example of the extremes men will go to to avoid being labelled "Small Cock".

Personally I don't see what's wrong with women standing round in the buff chatting or indeed applying make up before they have put any clothes on.

Evidently, you haven't seen the 'women' at David Lloyd.

Hardly. I've asked you about 5 questions in that post and you fail to answer any of them, mainly because you don't know how to perhaps?

Don't make up silly crap such as magazines advertising illegal products then i may have some respect for you ''mug''.

Get back to feeling up your gym instructor at your poxy gym :D

Your a mug because it makes me laugh how snobby your front is on this oh so special gym of yours yet the instructors are clueless unless you pay £30. Anyway im cringing at the fact im even arguing about this as I couldn't give two shits and was just giving some positive advice to milktary.

As for mens health, what I said was in jest. If magazines with men in y fronts is your thing so be it.

Poxy gym lol. Is this going to turn into my dad gym is bigger than yours. lol Anyway tigers players use it and in fact im not even a member anymore I gym from home so it is irrelevant.

Cold during this time of the year. Fix up Pussy. :D

Sorry for the bump, but I just joined a new PureGym 24hr in Sheffield for £16 a month and thought that was great value and just needed to tell foxestalk.

10 mins running machine

10 mins on the multi gym (Weights)

1st thing I did after was to spark up a ciggie.

I'm shagged.

So I want to compare prices with what people pay at the moment to gauge an idea.

I need to get back into the gym.

I was at a 'posh' gym with a pool, paying £45 a month, then out of the blue they put it up to £50 so I left.

I went to a closer and much cheaper gym, paying something like £85 every 3 months. I went religously for the first month but it eased off and i've not renewed.

Because of the hours of work and working away often I struggle to go to the gym/struggle to be bothered to go.

However when I was at the 'posh' gym with the pool it made me more motivated to go as I went in the gym then used the pool a fair bit, especially at the weekends. So although it was quite a bit more expensive I probably benefitted from it more, I am considering going back but at the same time struggling to justify that price. (I think they may have dropped the price from the £50 that they raised it to, not by much but a pound or 2.)

Depends what you want out of it, you say you used the pool more but if your just floating around like a turdeybob then it's not going to be benefiting you much, if your putting the effort in and smashing out lengths then that's what you want to be doing. You could either go for Bannatynes/David Lloyd type gyms but your paying a premium for facilities you may not be using such as towel services, crèche, cafe, Internet etc...... A leisure centre may be a better option for you.

If hours are a problem then you have the 24/7 gyms such as The Gym and Pure Gym (in Leicester, other available elsewhere), these are £12.99 and £18.99 respectively but are often way too overcrowded between 5pm - 11pm and offer no pool, sauna, steam room etc

A really nice place is at Market Bosworth Hall, a small but quiet gym and lovely changing room and wet facilities, not too sure on prices these days as it's been years since I went but a very nice gaff.

I work in the fitness/gym industry but not in Leicester anymore so happy to answer any questions independently.

Nah I did actually swim rather than float around, infact people who floated around and got in my way whilst swimming really pissed me off, no surprise around 80% of those people were fat bastards, I could have used the gym more but did use it a fair bit.

As for a Leisure Centre, call me a 'snob' (Which i'm not) but the gym parts don't tend to be all that and i've found you need to work around kids lessons, e.t.c

I was just really wanted opinions on whether £46 - £50 was a good/average price for gym, pool, sauna, steam room, it's abit pricey imo but at the end of the day you pay for what you get.

I think my problem is i'm going from one extreme to the other, i've been to an expensive and a (Very imo) cheap gym.

Fat people don't float.
