Well, That little fecker knocked us out with a debatable peno - you could see it coming. I must say - that ref was pants, didnt seem to like Leicester City a great deal, also, De Vries was f***king bollacks again. I hope we dont sign Kenton on a fullterm contract when his loan spell is up. Atleast we can concentrate on the league now, but I still can't see where the goals are going to come from...

I also thought you could tell the difference between the premiership side and the championship side quite easily particularly during the early stages of the game =/

:o:huh::unsure:

i thought he's been really good for us!!!

just cus he's made one bad decision to slide in doesn't bring him down in my opinion

Agree, what is it you don't like about him, can't be the peno as you just described it as debatable. We are a struggling Championship side we not going to get the dog's bollocks for every position and he's 100 times better than Impey et al.

Gutted, ****ing gutted.

I'm so proud of the lads today because they were superb and did what was expected of them but I just bloody knew we had to lose that way. I felt nervous before the game because I was dreading it being a tight game that they controversially win and Dickov would score......the thought of that feeling worried me and now I'm feeling it :(

It wasn't even a penalty, in my eyes Pederson tripped over Kenton who was on the floor....how is that a foul? Anyway the ref was quite clearlly on Blackburns side today so it's not suprising.

I'm left wondering 'what if?' and 'if only?' and I hate that. We deserved at least a replay today but we have nothing :(

However we played very well today, ok we didn't really threaten goal but neither did Blackburn because we made it hard for them. The fans and the players were absolutley top class IMO and we can be proud to be a Leicester City supporter today.

I thought De Vries did well today but I knew everyone would slag him off.

He was a hassle up there, most of the time the ball went up to him he would cause problems because of his strength.

What a top class post and nails exactly how I feel?

We had a game plan and played it well and whilst they were clearly the better and more talented side, we worked hard and deserved a replay.

I don't think Mr Barry fancied a midweek trip to Filbo Way so gave a very debatable penalty to save him the bother?

Nah it wasnt the penalty, I think that was a risky challenge to make, but I felt he could have stayed on his feet and hence, shouldnt have been a penalty. I just thought Kenton gave the ball away a fair bit today, having said that, a number of our players did, Tiatto IMO being todays main culprit for that. I think we played well but you could certainly see the difference between the premiership and the championship side at the end of the day. I think we should ditch that 4-5-1 formation anyway, we arent a good enough attacking side to use that...

Players who gave the ball away too much!

Dublin, Gudjonsson, Tiatto, all much more than Kenton.

just finished watching the game and i must say that every single leicester player on the pitch gave it there all and poured there hearts out it's unlucky that we didn't go through even though at times we looked like the better squad leicester played a tough physical game even though the play wasn't the nicest looking i'd have to say leicester deserves congratulations on a game well played blackburn in the end needed a penalty to score against us.

we went into this match knowing we didn't have anything to loose and the players played as if they were playing in the final and i loved that. the back line looked solid dublin played one of his finest games this season and maybury was wonderfull he kept dickov in check and caused trouble for him the whole game.

i hated how dickov cried everysingle time he was touched it seemed like he fell down everytime.

Tiatto is a wonderfull captain he gave it his all and he kept the spirit going throughout the squad.

leicester should take from this game knowing that they are a good squad and should be 1st in there leauge right now because they are capable of playing alongside premiership clubs today being a example and the charlton game.

unlucky but i think there is alot that can be taken from this game and built upon

great cup run foxes :fox:

At least our players can pull their fingers out now and concentrate on the league....  :nono:

If we play like that between now and the end of the season I can see us being clear of danger.

Chin up

I'm afraid not cellseven, certainly not that way with that gameplan in the Championship. It was 50/50 whether it would work today, unfortunately the ref decided the outcome. But if we set up like that in the Championship, like today, no way would we have scored. We didn't even create any chances today which is what we had been doing in recent away games, it was extremely negative. So it certainly has to change on Tuesday night!

We can only hope that Stefan Moore is a revelation.

We would never set up in the Championship like that. We played like that to keep Blackburn out and try get a replay or knick a goal and it so nearky worked.

Just got in and i am gutted :(

Thought we played well in patches and looked very good.

Afternoon folks,

not hear to gloat, what a crap game. Neale Barry is a crap referee, generally you have to be crap to upset both sets of fans.....

Anyway, some thoughts

Having reviewing the Pen on the TV I thought it was clear cut, as most neutrals seem to, Mr Barry wasnt for giving it but the linesman flagged.

Your fans - really enjoyed today, we were our normal selves - mediocre at best. Got going a bit half way through the second half when we actually started playing well.

Thoughts on the game

The first 45mins were amongst the worst I have ever seen. The only bright moment from either team was the MGP freekick which hit the post.

Our 'first' goal. Not sure why Neale "the muppet" Barry blew for the freekick, has he never heard of advantage?

Anyway, as I say not hear to gloat. Just to share thoughts.

De Vries is a donkey. We need to get rid of him fast....

I personally don't think that it was a penalty, even though the challenge made by Kenton was clumsy at the very least. Some refs would have given it, some wouldn't. Neale Barry is one of the refs who would, and thats that.

Posted

De Vries was not that bad today.

He chased down and was being pulled down all the time.

When he put too much power behind that pass to Tiatto i nearly cried!

Posted

I happened to think it was a peno, but I still dont believe we deserved to lose. De Vries put himself about quite well and could (and should) have had a lot more freekicks. I did feel we gave the ball away a bit too much (Dublin, Tiatto, Gudjonsson and Gillespie in the main) and that probably cost us in the end. I think Kenton looks a decent player (he cant half head for a shortish guy!) and we shouldnt judge him just on one silly challenge.

Chin up Foxes!

Oh yeah forgot to add, De Vries, he was pants. Never stopped whining and complaining and diving left right and centre. Why is he first choice striker?

Posted

I never stopped booing dickov today from the 1st whistle to the last i booed.

I liked some of the songs we sang:

Dickhead theres only one dickhead

Could'nt score in La Manga

He dove today and never stopped moaning.

Just got back, the ref was totally shocking today. A premiership referee who wanted the premiership team to go through. Blackburn remind me of Arsenal, always going to ground and looking for the fouls, and always holding our players, but then the lino or ref wouldn't an didn't give a foul. Couldn't see whether it was a peno or not but on the radio on way back they said it was very theatrical(ala arsenal). Dickov was his usual self chasing everthing, it looked like us fans got under his skin in the first half so i bet he was glad to be up the other end of the field in the 2nd half. If only we could of got him upset enough in the 1st half to of got another yellow card (lol). As for DeFries he was woeful, was never close enough to their players, always an arm length away to challenge properly for the ball. Plus he wants to learn to run and jump more often, thought he should've came of an sent either Conelley or moore on. Cant see Blackburn filling a corner up in the milleniumn stadiumn for the semi final, thought their support was shocking. Seemed like they only sing when they are kicking into their supported end.

WELL DONE TO THE LEICESTER SUPPORTERS TODAY....................

WELL DONE TO THE PLAYERS ON THE CUP RUN......................

Got back from the game and thought we did well considering our respective league positions. Our defence was largely solid and did well to cope with their attackers. However, our own attacking play was abysmal - there was no support for De Vries and I'm afraid to say I wasn't too impressed with De Vries either. He hardly jumped off the floor when contesting aerial battles - preferring to attempt to hold off the defender and control it with his chest etc. He was also far too slow in closing down their defenders and his hold-up play was rubbish.

That said, the fans were great and did the team proud.

Posted

we never looked like scoring and when dublin came up for the last couple of mins he won more headers than de-vries who i thought was shocking today, scowy would have done a lot better job, the peno was dodgy but you cant go to ground in your own box at the speed kenton did without a certain risk, never mind theres always next year.

Well - that's about the most unambitious performance I've seen from the Blues - and heaven knows I've seen a few! I'd have much preferred to have lost 3-2 than watch that drivel.

We showed Blackburn far too much respect.... it was as if we were playing scared.

Oh well, local derby with Posh next season?

Posted

Why the #### doesn't DeVries JUMP when he's going for a header. Unbelievable. Scowy was 10 times the player - I am not joking.

Levein should have had him off much earlier.
