MPH Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 how do you hide 3.7bn? Having said that, it would be pretty hard to withdraw.. " I'll take it in tens and twenties, please" Did he actually take it himself or was he just crap at his job?

" I'll take it in tens and twenties, please" Did he actually take it himself or was he just crap at his job? He had two trading positions. The real one and the one for the bank. That is where the fraud is. I also note that Soc Gen's HQ has been raided. Funny how these banks never make mistakes in my favour.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 Apparently he "bet" it on stock going up this week... and it didn't (the details on what a actually happened in the stockmarket this week are relatively infamous now). The fraud is that it wasn't his perogative to gamble that amount of the bank's (or rather, its customers!) money. Just out of interest... if we filled the Walkers Stadium and 3.7 billion was divided equally between everyone, we'd all get over £115,000 each - a much better use of money!
Rincewind Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 and 90% of the people would blow it all on booze after the game. The remaining 10% would sell it to them.
