SPF07 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 DJ a good player to have and has got paced to burn but his finishing isn't always the best. I think Fryatt is a better finisher then DJ but would rather keep DJ in the team because of his pace. We need him now what with Howard in our team. Big man who can win headers and hold it up and DJ with his pace and qucik turns. Have to question Fryatt better finisher than Dj?? his record previously is brilliant, we kust havent seen him given sufficient chance. Definately think we should play both wingrs next game and Howard/Hume or Dj up front. Hayles is rubbish
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I just think Fryatt is such a wasted talent, the lad could easy be a top goal scorer in this league but for some reason just never gets there. He can glide past players and normally takes 2-3 players on but never puts it in. When he first game his finishing was spot on and the derby game last year just that goal makes you wonder he can't do that every week.
Simi Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I always thought Fryatt was a decent finisher, but is he really? How many sitters does he miss? I could probably list 20 easy chances he's had this season and last that's he's inexcusably missed, which is only ever made up for by scoring regularly when you next get the chances, but Fryatt hasn't done that either.Massive disappointment. I wouldn't even call Fryatt a massive disappointment, he's been below par for ages now. As somebody said earlier he's living off goals from seasons gone by. People still claim he's a great finisher but at the end of the day I've not seen him actually muster up a chance for himself or get in any decent positions this season. If we have the chance to let him go, take it.

Like you say, he can't do it every week. The top strikers do and that's why they score goals on a regular basis. Matty Fryatt will unfortunately never do that in the Championship for Leicester City.

Like take the Stoke game for example, put it in easy but was a pretty hard attempt but he put it in like a goalscorer and at Villa too. I don't think he will he stay here longer but i think if he drops down a league he will started finding the net again.

He might not be a better player but looking at facts, Elvis Hammond has a better goal scoring record than Fryatt for Leicester. Now that's saying something. You're right, Fryatt can do it, just not on a regular basis. And to be successful in this league you need consistency, something with he's never going to have for us unfortunately.
Staf Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Very pleased to see him back i think he has the ability to be one of the best strikers in the league but i hope he can get fully fit and score some goals
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Like take the Stoke game for example, put it in easy but was a pretty hard attempt but he put it in like a goalscorer and at Villa too. Problem is to a good finisher, they would be just two examples of a wide repertoire of good finishes, not two-thirds of his goalscoring exploits. He needs to go somewhere else for his own good. Even if he turned out a decent player it wouldn't be the end of the world. He'll never make it in the Premiership which is where we want to be and where he has shown no signs of getting us any time soon.

Agreed, he just doesn't have the consistency to perform week in week out and its a shame because on a good day. He can tear open any defence in this league. I blame Rob Kelly also for his dipping form.

Very true but he's good to have on the bench just too come on for the last 20 mins and make a impact but i think he want first team football and think he will drop down a league to find it. A real shame it is because when we first got him and stuck him up front with Hume they looked deadly.

I wouldn't call Fryatt an impact player to be honest. It's not as if he possesses much pace to scare oppositions. At the moment, if a good offer came in for him I think we should take it. He's never going to be the goal scorer we need to get us back into the Premiership and I think for his own good he should move while he's still young.

Simi Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Why? I know. Silly post. It's blatantly Neil Warnocks fault.

lildave3 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 If Fryatt took less than 83 touches before shooting, he might then get in the team.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Why? When he came here (Levein last buy) he was doing the buissness for Walsall and was tipped for great things. He played his part in saving us that season and then came back next season over weight and not intrested. I thought Kelly would have got the best out of him with him being a youth coach and all.
The People's Hero Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 If Fryatt took less than 83 touches before shooting, he might then get in the team. He lacks the following qualities. Piety Reverence Duplicity Abilty to survive in jungle with nothing but some flint and a box of vaginal wipes. Tendency to Punch And for those reasons, Matty, I'm not going to invest, although I wish you all the best.

I presume i'm right in assuming that Piety is a sly fat joke though?
Finnegan Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Such a frustrating player, epitomised by his miss last night after such a good run. If he had the anticipation and finishing to go with his pace, he'd be devastating. A bit like Ear-... Sorry.

Piety is a measure I suppose of how pious someone is (or in this case, isn't). I like your pie joke though... it just shows that my humour works on many many levels.

The People's Hero Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I presume pious is a sly fat joke though? Yes. Yes it is. I heard he once hitchhiked to the pork pie roundabout and proceeded to eat the entire pork pie library before regurgitating it intact, just for kicks like. BIG TIME!!!

I would'nt of thought you would have forgot such a key quality amongst other key qualities.
