Thracian Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 What a treat it was to see the return of DJ. How desperately we have needed some pace in the side. I think generally we need more pace all over the field but we've been pedestrian in DJ's absence. If only he'd scored last night to supercharge his confidence levels.

I agree it was really good to see him back in the team. Its a pity he didnt get the ball in the net last night...lets hope he gets one on Saturday!

I actually agree with EVERYTHING you have just posted for a change!!!!(my statement ONLY applies to Thrac's above comments about DJ!!!!!)
Koke Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Had he buried that chance it'd have been one fine goal. Lightning quick pace, turn inside which left one defender on his arse but unfortunate that he hit the side netting. Good to have him back though. We could do with some pace.
Micky Ruddle Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 The lad is lightening quick. It was good to see him back playing again. He was sharp last night, and long may it continues. But, Hayles and Howard to me doesn't seem right.
teblin Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 No one else on the pitch or the club would've got into that position. The shift was awesome just a shame he didn't finish it. I think he will be a player for us.

But, Hayles and Howard to me doesn't seem right. It isn't. But given the conditions and the very physical opposition, I can see why Holloway chose that combination. The fact that Hayles scored shouldn't guarantee him a starting place at Blackpool. His best role is as an impact player coming on for the last 20 minutes or so.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Such a frustrating player, epitomised by his miss last night after such a good run. If he had the anticipation and finishing to go with his pace, he'd be devastating.

If he had the anticipation and finishing to go with his pace, he'd be devastating. We could be talking about someone else entirely here... I agree though, I hope he gets over [insert excuse of choice here] quickly and hits a vein of form.
MPH Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 he had a good chance and blew it give the guy a break.. how long had he been out?

Zingari Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 give the guy a break.. how long had he been out? just trying to be contoversial ,
Raj Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Gotta agree, very good to have him back. SHUT IT DAVE!!!
MPH Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 just trying to be contoversial , just ask Raj what its like playing a game of footy when you been out for so long... or any of the over 21's so it seems!
Raj Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 just ask Raj what its like playing a game of footy when you been out for so long... or any of the over 21's so it seems! I dunno what you are talking about!!!!
Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 But darling, I can change. Only if you go see Zoltar
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Such a frustrating player, epitomised by his miss last night after such a good run. If he had the anticipation and finishing to go with his pace, he'd be devastating. [ultra] AND worth the 2.1 million pounds the FOXES paid for him [/ultra]
Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 AND worth the 2.1 million pounds the FOXES paid for him Why isn't my blocking working at the moment? Is there a problem with the site?
The Reverend Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Why isn't my blocking working at the moment? Is there a problem with the site? :D Good to see Deej back though. Shame he didnt put that chance away, would have had him firing, but his goals will come, im sure of it.
Joe. Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I'm glad he's back. If Bori were to start on the right wing next game I'd be happy to see Hume and Hayles dropped to accomodate Bori and DJ. With his pace he can cause teams problems and with a good run in the side of at least three games I can see DJ being pretty successful and valuable to the team.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 DJ a good player to have and has got paced to burn but his finishing isn't always the best. I think Fryatt is a better finisher then DJ but would rather keep DJ in the team because of his pace. We need him now what with Howard in our team. Big man who can win headers and hold it up and DJ with his pace and qucik turns.

Big man who can win headers and hold it up and DJ with his pace and qucik turns. I always thought Fryatt was a decent finisher, but is he really? How many sitters does he miss? I could probably list 20 easy chances he's had this season and last that's he's inexcusably missed, which is only ever made up for by scoring regularly when you next get the chances, but Fryatt hasn't done that either. Massive disappointment.
