Scarby Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I personally think he had a very good game against Blackburn and looks a solid defender that is half decent in the air. I think he would be a great additon to the squad!
Ricey Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Seems a very good player so yes I would like us to sign him.
Cat Burger Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I don't think it'll be worth it unless we can get him for free.
breadandcheese Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I think any money we have needs to be spent on areas that are desperate for improvement. Right-back is not one of them - we have Maybury (first choice) and Canero (in reserve). I don't consider a right-back a priority. Kenton is a decent player, but not good enough to really change our team
Frenzied Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I think Soton are trying to offload him, as they agreed to him playing yesterday even before they were knocked out of the cup. So I guess any fee would be minimal.
Ash Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Yes - I think, ..... Kenton-Stearman-McCarthy-Maybury Is the way forward !
Steven Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Yes - I think, ..... Kenton-Stearman-McCarthy-MayburyIs the way forward ! 78271 Although I like Kenton I have a couple of issues. Firstly I prefer Maybury at right back rather than left back. Secondly Kenton's style of defending reminds me of Mad Frankie at times.
Cat Burger Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I like Canero, that's why I said probably not as it would almost certainly mean he leaves. Also Steven's point about Maybury being better at right back is a good one.
Anish Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 No, Maybury is a solid RB and I'd prefer Canero to be given a chance. Our weaknesses lie up front so we should be spending any surplus money we have on bringing somebody that can score. Just had a thought - maybe we could give Kevin Keegan a coaching job here to bolster our attacking play. He might not know how to defend but his side were always good going forward.
Cat Burger Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I doubt Kevin Keegan would come here, he is not as good as he thinks he is. He is also a quitter, when the going gets tough...he gets out of there
jon4001 Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 i think rick broadbent for the times was right when he described kenton as "unconvinving and uncompsed throughout". He lost possession in dangerous areas (let dickov in for prob best chance of game) and often had to rely on gillespie to come back to assist. He was also caught unawares against when rodgers found space and time to run with the ball and cross for forest's goal. We should be able to get better than him!
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Was quite funny when someone took a throw in for us and aimed it at Kenton who wasn't even looking but he still managed to control it on his chest. I think we could do with him as he can play centre back too but I wouldn't want to spend too much on him, if anything at all.
stez Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 wait 'til later on i think, i've not seen him in a game yet and thought, 'goodness the boy kentons on fire'
Ash Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 He has only played three times for us don't forget everyone.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 He has only played three times for us don't forget everyone. De Vries has only made three league starts for us but the majority of people seem to have made up their mind about him already...

Anish Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 wait 'til later on i think, i've not seen him in a game yet and thought, 'goodness the boy kentons on fire' 78471 When was the last time you thought that a Leicester player was 'on fire'?? I can't remember any outstanding performance by a Leicester player off the top of my head for quite a while.
Scow Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 It's a difficult one because although I think he's played well, right back is not somewhere we need to strengthen. Additionally, we have Kisnorbo coming on board in the summer. He would be a good squad player, and can play anywhere across the back line, so it's worth keeping it in mind. Plus, he adds some pace as well.

stez Posted 15 March 2005 Posted 15 March 2005 maybe dickov. i never kissed muzzy's arse because i knew he was only seeing his fat contract out (because uncle martin didn't come and get him)
shen Posted 15 March 2005 Posted 15 March 2005 Well he's still the most creative player we've had these last 10 years and he was always capable of the odd scintillating moment... edit: Straying off topic abit...sorry... I think we should extend the loan 'til the end of season and see in due time whether he's needed or surplus to requirements.
