Leicester's problem

Recommended Posts

Leicester City in the last 4 seasons or so in this division have a serious problem, we can't win one game without having a bad result in the next game or next couple of games or so.

This season it has been by far the worst.

We beat Watford 4-1, then got just 4 points in the next 5 league games. In Between we had good wins against Villa and Forest, but couldn't perform well in the league.

We beat Sheff Wed 2-0, then drew at S****horpe and lost to Sheff Utd at home which was one of the worst games ive seen this season.

We beat Barnsley 2-0, then are extremely unlucky not to beat Chelsea in a great performance, then we draw to Colchester and Preston followed by an awful loss at home to Burnley.

We then beat Bristol City away 2-0 in Ollie's first game in charge, a huge false dawn, we then go on our worst run of the season so far, just 3 points in 6 games, including a poor defeat at Hull and home defeats against Southampton and West Brom.

We then play well and beat Ipswich 2-0, but then draw at home followed by 2 awful performances and defeats at QPR and Southampton.

Ollies new players are here and play fantastic in the Cov game, winning 2-0 in the best league performance of the season, then we are batterd and if it wasn't for great defending would have lost easily at Norwich but draw 0-0,

We then get a hard fought victory against Palace, followed by a 2-1 defeat yesterday at Blackpool.

Theres talk of playoffs on here, yet we haven't won 3 league games in a row for a year, and the last time we won more than 3 games in a row was nearly 5 years ago, when we won 5 league games in a row.

Is it an attitude problem with the players :dunno:

Is it the manager's fault playing players out of position or using wrong tactics :dunno:

Are the players just shit :dunno:

Is it the fan's fault somehow :dunno:

Is it a problem with Leicester City in general :dunno:

What are other clubs doing like Norwich and Palace who have both been on great runs, Norwich were stuck in the relegation zone, they are now 7 points off the playoffs, Palace were in the zone too, and are now up there near the playoffs. Should we have got Warnock? Or will we still do awful no matter what manager or what players we have.

There is a problem somewhere, we can't go on a run of wins. All i can say is our chances of the playoffs this season are 0. We have no chance what soever. We need to win at least 6 or 7 league games in a row to stand a chance, and the last time we won 5 in a row was nearly 5 years ago. That just says it all really, we just need to survive relegation now. I can see years more of awful football and results at Leicester for years to come. We may need a decade, not 3 years to get back to the Premiership.

i believe the word you are looking for is 'consistency' ;) i sort of agree but we cant do anything about that, its up to ollie to get them to play to the whistle and realise how much work is going in to this football club and how much time and money the fans are spending to see these performances.

The real problem is Blackpool scored when you entered live chat so you are to blame :D

If we could win 10 in a row we would be vying for playoffs

would you honestly want that, to be honest id rather stay in this division for this and maybe next season and then push on. we are not even close to being near ready for promotion, id want a good go at it if we did make the prem and not assume we will do well with the extra money you get from promotion. id hate for us to do a derby! does anybody else agree?

At the moment, were not even fit to talk about it as we are currently struggling in the championship, let alone the premiership. Give it next season before drawing up conclusions.

and as for the blackpool goal being my fault, well it might be because we havent loss once when ive been to a game this season so.............

'Doing a Derby' would be humiliating, but the financial rewards of being in the Prem are such that there's never really a bad time to get promoted. As others have said though, it's not really something we need concern ourselves with at the moment, is it?

Cheers for that, Einstein. :D

Yeah, stating the obvious - can't get by by just winning the occasional game!

At least we are going to have something to play for come the end of the season :D

:crylaugh:

Supporting LCFC is NEVER boring!

I can't work it out the cov game was great i thought walking home if we play like this from now on then up the table to safty we go.We are not ready for the prem yet we need a season or 2 doing well in this league. We have got the players they shown us that at the cov game and ipswich etc so wots going on the rest of the games??How is ollie going to turn it around???

Were just not very good. Not good enough to perform strongly enough over a few games or more which is what it takes to get anywhere in the league.

So I blame the players with the manager a close second.

How many times have we won twice in a row in the league, when did we last do it?

As for taking time getting promoted waiting 2-3 years look at preston, they were up there for a few seasons but couldnt sustain it. Whilst portsmouth has poor seasons then had ONE good season and got promoted, they did manage to stay up.

It happened before when we played Sheffield United at home under Levein. Suddenly you wondered if we'd seen the light but it was soon back to the usual recipe of defence-based hassle-and-hold-em football.

Of hasslers like Hughes and Maybury masquerading as wingers, pass-the-buck automatons in midfield, stopper centre-backs who's only thought in possession was humph and full-backs like Nils who barely knew what the attacking half looked like.

Unfortunately too much of that mentality remains and anyone with a bit of culture and creativity seems to get shipped out when we most need em.

In the 15 games we've played under Holloway we've scored 15 goals. It's pathetic but totally predictable the way we play.

When we start thinking about scoring 15 goals in five matches I'll get my smile back.

I blame the regeneration of Leicester City Centre.

Namely the Shires Extension and the New Performing Arts Centre(aka Curve)

Believe!
