ousefox Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 We don't have a bad team but they just can't play together for some reason!!
colbo68 Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 We don't have a bad team but they just can't play together for some reason!! look at what you've just said! a bunch of players who cant play together IS a bad team!!! and that's the problem....the individuals on paper are good, the tactics thay are playing and their team-work isnt
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 When you look at some of our players on paper, i honestly believe we are up there with some of the best teams in this division. Howard, Oakley, Clemence, Hume, Clapham, Alnwick, DJ Campbell, Kisnorbo, Mattock, Mcauley..... I think the previous poster is right. We have a good set of individual players but they just dont seem to be able to play together for some reason!
Asha Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 At the match Saturday I was watching and about half way through the second half I realised that we really are crap and weren't really going to get back in the game. Imo we won't get relegated. Look at the bottom four, Colchester, S****horpe, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End. We still have home games against ALL of them. Ok in the near future Watford's a tough game and Norwich are on a good run, but picking up the odd point from these 'tougher' games will keep us in the fight, and surely from these 4 home games in particular you'd expect 12 points.
surrifox Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 we appear incapable of playing as a team and have done through numerous personnel changes for some time. The opposition on saturday looked like they were a threat every time they crossed half way and generally found a team mate with their passes ; in contrast to city's laborious or hoofed efforts - we never seemed capable of creating space in which to play. At this level the defence is quite adequate - the statistics bear that out- the strikers are criticised but for example Fryatt who is out of favour and is brought on with 2 minutes to play is alert to the only chance to come his way and is stopped from scoring just by a smart save from the keeper. We agree that in Oakley and Clemence we have a more than adequate basis for midfield - OK over to you Ollie why are we looking like dead men walking?

Always makes me cringe though when people say smart save...smart's just not the right word And imo the midfield has got to take a bit of the blame for our performances, agreed we have one of the best defensive records still, despite being 20th, yet we're not scoring enough and the chances that are created by the midfield are becoming fewer and fewer.

I expected 6 points from Blackpool and Plymouth being as how both had been on terrible runs and in Plymouth's case had decided that they were probably safe enough from relegation to flog every player with any value and struggle along with what was left

These four games will be 6 pointers, meaning we win and the points difference is 6 more than if they won. Knowing Leicester though we'll lose all four and beat Watford, West Brom, Stoke and Cardiff away

I don't agree, matches are not won on paper, if their was one game to "do it for the manager" BITTERMOUTH was the game, look what response Holloway got, NOTHING!!! that is VERY frightening. I am sure he feels anger, embarrassment, resentment towards the players, as we all do! I don't get the feeling the players are remotley interested in a relegation fight, With only possible relegation to look forward to attendances at the Walkers will drop like a stone... Giving the players more "excuse ammo"!! ((BLEAK TIMES AHEAD)) I have never said this before but For the first time I can see a clear path to relegation this season, one half decent game against Cov wont keep us up thats for sure! Holloway has now gone back to his good cop bad cop thing that we had in the cup against Southampton and threatening more "changes" ....Trouble is the windows gone and how many "loans Players" are gonna be interested in a relegation fight at Leicester City? So it's going to be down to players that other clubs have deemed "surplus to requirments" to fight and scrap to keep us up, but they don't look up for it do they?
Master Fox Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Everyone says we've got good players on paper, but to be fair most of them are rejects and fcuking useless. If Oakley is actually any good he wouldn't have cost £500,000 and he's truly showing his worth. We haven't signed a decent player since O'Neill left. I wouldn't be surprised if we go down.

We were in the premier league then though, not many decent players want to come to the bottom of the championship.

Asha Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 No, Lennon, Izzet, Super Steve, all signed while we were still in Div 1 My mistake.
Zingari Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Yes, we are. I'm afraid, crap. i'd like to see some improvement before people make claims like that ; at the moment we are extremely fooking crap
LeeCovFox Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 i'd like to see some improvement before people make claims like that ; at the moment we are extremely fooking crap I'd like a big house in the country. However I fear that both may be some time away.
