I've used them for a few years - a bloke I know met the main man through his church. I don't go to church myself, but if you know someone that goes they are often useful for putting you in touch with honest tradesmen

I was offered a job there once as a handy chap in the garage when i was 16. Chalky White knew my dad you see, but Chalky was one of those ducking and diving sly cockney blokes who you wouldn't mess with. I was scared of Chalky so i didn't take the job.

Everytime i take my car somewhere to be serviced or whatever, there seems to be a kid going to do the work on it!!! Always comes out with something wrong, even though that thing that is now wrong was ok before i took it in!
danny. Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 last service I took my ZT to was an 'MG specialist', luffield cars in Loughborough. They charged me £330 for a service, all seemed fine. When I got back I noticed when I was driving a rattle when I was doing about 30mph or more. Stopped the car and had a look at the wheels. On the front near-side wheel's bolts were all loose, a couple were so loose I coulw turn them with the tip of my little finger. Some idiot had put the wheel back on in the service, hand tightened it and then forgot to tighten the bolts!! and I drove back from loughborough on he motoray doing 70-80 on the way back, amazed the wheel didn't fall off!!!
