Asha Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Mandaric has been entirely consistent with managers. Every one he's appointed since taking us over has proved, one way or another, to be inadequate. Yeah I used the wrong word, meant to say basically he should have given more time. Bollocked it up somehow though. Apologies.
FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I'll tell you why people are getting so touchy, it is because you are saying people aren't supporting the team when in reality they (maybe yourself aswell I don't know) are the ones spending hundreds of pounds on season tickets/away travel e.t.c. But those fans are the loyal ones... I am just targeting the fans who go to matches purely to complain the whole time. I sat next to someone who despite the WHOLE stadium cheering and backing the players when they do something good, he sat and just complained about the team and was even complaining about why we were cheering them on when we are so crap.... THAT is just annoying as it is pointless even coming to the game if you don't like it...
davieG Posted 9 March 2008 Author Posted 9 March 2008 Guess so... sorry if I sounded rude or abrasive... I'm just passionate about Leicester and like to defend them... guess I should perhaps realise that things are tough... but I still think that with the games left and the fact we aren't in the relegation zone YET is reason to be slightly optimistic... Fair enough but at least have the decency to accept that because fans are really concernned about the prospects of relegation doesn't mean they don't support the team or are any less passionate than you.
turkish14 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 for f***s sake................ we've all got our opinions on wether we,ll stay up or go down either way we all agree that WE WANT TO STAY UP and at the minute the only way thats going to happen where us the fans can help is by getting behind the team, and hope the players respond to that!look at the game against preston you could feel the tension and negativity which even clem said in the programme didnt help the players, where as yesterday i thought the support was much better. have opinions but lets support the team 110% in every game. and we may, just may get out of this s**t we're in.

No you weren't you were targeting people on here who had a different opinion on the prospects of relegation to you - didn't you tell us to fook off and support Arsenal and Man U?

FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Fair enough but at least have the decency to accept that because fans are really concernned about the prospects of relegation doesn't mean they don't support the team or are any less passionate than you. No no no... good GOD no. I can't possibly start to say that as I have only supported Leicester since 1998... when I was 9 yes, but still, there are fans who have been supporting City for 20, 30, 40 years now and they CLEARLY support the team passionately... I just can't stand those who complain all the time when there is some hope there and they just won't accept it as they are determined to see the worst in the players, manager and club generally.
accessory Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Yeah I used the wrong word, meant to say basically he should have given more time. Bollocked it up somehow though. Apologies. Accepted. Martin Allen's sacking seemed very harsh (and destabilising) at the time, but evidence has since emerged that it was in the club's interests. In any case, there are more of Holloway's signings than Allen's in the current starting line-up, so blaming Allen alone won't do.
FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 No you weren't you were targeting people on here who had a different opinion on the prospects of relegation to you - didn't you tell us to fook off and support Arsenal and Man U? Well yes... kinda. But I, in my mind, and I thought I had put this across, was targeting those who are constantly pessimistic about the situation when we are still far from down and out as they are making it out to be.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 The question was - do I think we'll be relegated? Well, yes I do. See you at Southampton, eh FilboFox?

Can you please stop missing the point and confusing this topic with a few moaning fans that you come across at the matches. We're not complaining we're analysing the situation and what we're seeing makes us unhappy about our situation which on balance points towards relegation. We don't want it, we support the team whether its been for 50 years or 50 days.
FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 There seems to be a plethora of patronising fans on here today! But they are making sense... that last post only goes to show how the players pick up on the fans lack of belief and although it isn't an excuse for playing shit, it doesn't help the situation any at all...

No they would make sense if they were directed at those people you continue to identifying as moaners, not blindly toward people on this forum that you and the others have never met.
Asha Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 But surely the Bristol City game has given you some hope that we can escape this battle... Not for me it doesn't. We should have had ten. We can't score to save our lives, something that eventually may cost us. Although we played well, by not winning we drop 2 places and our now really in the shit. If Sheff Wed win either of their games in hand, we're in the drop zone. It doesn't matter who we play, a point is 2 dropped imo, given the situation we're in.
Leicester Lass Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 But surely the Bristol City game has given you some hope that we can escape this battle... Not if we can't put the ball in the back of the net. We had what, 24 attempts on goal yesterday? At least 4 were stupidly easy chances yet we could've carried on all night and still not broken the deadlock. No goals in 4 games now and no sign of that record letting up.
turkish14 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 soz your rite dave g that did sound patronizing so apologies for that.... i was trying to make the point of...we're really in the s**t and i really believe we've got talented enough players to get out of it, but the players have been looking edgy/nervous and i think that this sometimes comes from the stands. If they had a bit more confidence to shoot from the edge of the box or attack balls more often we'd be alright but they(the players)look s**t scared.
FleckneyFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 3 wins + 2 draws will see us safe. Scunny + Colchester wins + 1 win somewhere else which we are more than likely to get. Then its just another win or a couple of draws to see us safe! We can do it.
davieG Posted 9 March 2008 Author Posted 9 March 2008 But surely the Bristol City game has given you some hope that we can escape this battle... No because we've had too many false dawns. Did the cov thrashing precede a glorious run of results? Did the Norwich annihaltation bring forth a salvo of points? No and No! Why should anyone believe that in a game where we dominated but couldn't score raise hopes?

Then its just another win or a couple of draws to see us safe! We can do it. Yeah that's the way I saw it until Tuesday. Preston were one of the four below us. Wins against Scunny, Colchester and Sheff Wed are no longer 'guaranteed'.
Eastern Fox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 We continue to throw away opportunities to move out of the relegation mire...Holloway hasn't got long to teach our strikers how to score goals. If we could win at home, we wouldn't be in this mess. It's a very close call whether we get relegated or stay up, I'm getting more and more pessimistic because nothing seems to be changing...
FilboFox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Oh fook it... I give up. Fine, have it your way... we are crap, there is no hope we are going to stay up, League 1 next year... League 2 the next... administration as Mandaric leaves... Leicester fall away to obscurity. Thats our future... the pessimistic way.

Stop throwing your f**king toys out and realise that people aren't being pessimistic, we're just being realistic. We are in 21st place, 2 points off the bottom three and the team in 22nd has two games in hand on us. We haven't scored in our last four games and have got two very tough away games coming up. If you don't see that as a recipe for relegation then god know what planet you're on.

And so they should be! but it's not the fans fault -they, well most of them have created this situation, they are the ones that have continually under performed. Now that reality has hit them even if it has quite hit home with FilboFox they are starting to panic. It's well known that as relegation get closer and promotion for that matter players and teams can lose their cool. When it happens to promotion chasing teams the players are perceived to have bottled it, but it seems that when relegation threatened teams bottle it, even when playing well it's the fans fault for being edgy.

Did the Norwich annihaltation bring forth a salvo of points? No and No! Why should anyone believe that in a game where we dominated but couldn't score raise hopes? Maybe its just down to the persons belief in the team... I believe that things will come good as I see signs of improvement slowly but surely...
