Ric Flair Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I'm trying to be positive and say we'll get out of it... again!! but we really are in the shit and it will take a good run from us to pull away from it. With 2 away games coming up, we could well be a few points adrift and with Sheff Wed having 2 games in hand, the pressure could be unbareable. I absolutely refuse to believe we haven't got good enough players to string some wins together and therefore if we go down then we deserve everything we get as we're a disgrace.
Fox in a Box Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Sheff W have Sheff Utd and Cov as there games in hand.... Lets hope both them can do us a favour.... 2 draws would be the worst case we should hope for...

surrifox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 based on the average of points per game we will finish with 51 points at the end of the season and even though our goal difference should help to give us the edge if we finish equal on points with another side I would be surprised if this was enough for safety.
Thracian Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Fed up of this, my little brother caught stearman and weso out on the piss on saturday night at some Jack penate gig, where's the commitment? If somebody said to me "quit drinking and play for Leicester or carry and drinking and sit at home, you can't play" I know i'd play for Leicester in a second, none of our players have an fooking pride or passion, I sometimes think we'd be better fielding 11 fans from the crowd than our real team, if we don't stay up I will be writing a very strongly worded letter to at least 22 people!!!!   :mad:Oh, my edit: hope to god we'll stay up but the odds are against us! Why the hell shouldn't Stearman go out for a drink Saturday night? Football might be a dream job for us all but that's what it is, a job. Just like being a doctor or a railway worker and ALL people have the right to enjoy their leisure time as they wish. Stearman gave everything for City on Saturday both defensively and in attack. I'd consider it more worrying if he didn't want to wind down with his pals afterwards.

FleckneyFox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 If we had scored 1 against Bristol we'd be 16th right now and you'd all be happy so all we need is a win and we'll go up a few places.
Daggers Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 ...you'd all be happy so all we need is a win and we'll go up a few places. Only those that would start harping on about making the play-off's. Some of us have remained firmly resolute in our belief that this season only has one outcome based on the fact that our manager has had no effect on the confidence of the striking force...which is odd seeing as it is this aspect of his managerial team that he trumpets throughout his book.

IF The only word that has any relevance in your statement. This season has been full of IFs and is why we are were we are (where have I heard that before ). Ifs don't score you goals, Ifs don't win you games, Ifs dont propel you up the league!
cecchini Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Amen to that. But I believe that Holloway is a good manager, and should be allowed the opportunity to have an effect. That means surviing the drop and getting a promotion next year. Other managers are scared of the firing attitude Mr Mandaric has. Firing Stan will not help us now.
demon_dog Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 A horrible thought has just occured to me, tomorrow Cardiff are in court to dispute when the £24 million payout is due to Hamman. Hamman's lawyers say that payment is due today, Ridsdale stated on the radio today that the agreement was to pay it back in 2016!!! If Cardiff lose the case then they will almost certainly go into administration, this being the case then the league would automatically deduct 10 points, thus plunging them into the relegation zone on 35 points. As I said a horrible thought because I do not like to see a club go into admin, but if this were to happen it could help to see us remain in this division.

Ooooooh! and then they go on and win the FA Cup? It just might happen!

Southampton are in a pickle as well and could go into administration. I'm not sure though when the deduction would take place as the League brought in new regulations to prevent teams doing what Leeds did last year. It would sit really uncomfortable with me if we stayed up because of another team taking a 10-point dock. I want to stay up because we get results.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I have a nagging feeling that we will somehow get relegated despit having a squad that should be mid table at least, if we lose on Tuesday, Wednesday have Colchester and two games in hand and Saints will have gotten away from us. We'll be in deep trouble. I do worry about this - think Leeds last season. I know I expected them to avoid the drop. That home game v Ipswich was supposed to be a shoe in, but they fooked it up with 10 mins to go... something I can more than see us doing.

But if we win all our remaining games, we will stay up. SIMPLE.
Finchy Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I hadn't seen Southampton's remaining fixtures until today, and i have to say that has cheered me up. Come on we can do it, we're playing well, hopefully as soon as (if) we score one, they will be like London busses

I can see them going into admin today, Risdale is a joker who shouldn't be allowed to take charge of football clubs.
crisp monster Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 i was on a stag do in Newcastle on Saturday and watched their game against Liverpool in Shearers bar at St James not coming from Leicester, i find it hard to find anyone as p#ssed off with football as i am at the moment, but being with the Geordies made me feel a bit less alone. i don't know if anyone can look back but have we really done any good against the bottom 3 or 4 sides in previous years at home?? all this 'all we have to do is beat Scunny, Colchester and S Wed' is total bollox we can't score and have (imo) a shaky goalkeeper and if we are going to get out of this then we will probably need about 5 or 6 points from our remaining away games i think S Wed and Preston are on a roll and we need Cov,Soton and Barnsley to stay within reach a point tonight (at least) is a must
crisp monster Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 on the subject of Cardiff on the way back from Newcastle on Sunday night, we dropped a couple of our lads off at Leicester services. after grabbing a quick burger my mate was standing in there and 3 Cardiff fans walked in singing 'Wemberley' my mate - who is a bit of a nutter said ' shut up you f##king taff c##ts' then the door opened and another 4 came in.....followed by another 6 etc i was sitting on our coach and he came back in a bit of a panic and told our driver to get going he didn't tell us about it until we were back on the M1 BTW it would be great if a couple went into admin all we would have to do is see off Colchester and we would be home and dry (don't like the admin thing - but if its what it takes then i can live with it)

Jay Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 lets hope this Cardiff court case results in them being forced into admin and being docked 10points!! it could be our only hope....
colbo68 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Im afraid I think we are shite.... and Wednesday are 2-1 up - what a kick in the teeth to all the 'keep the faith' merchants, Ollie and, of course Milan if we go down - should have kept hold of Allen and given him more of a chance
