Dames Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 No hope. We've been riding our luck these past few seasons with shite performances. Its gunna run out some day tbh.
reynard Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I think we can afford to take a few risks on our goals against column in trying to score and win a few games. We're not going to stand any chance of staying up unless we start scoring! Thought we did that yesterday! Trouble is once we concede we lose. 3 of our home games will be dour nervous affairs against teams happy to sit back and catch us on the break.
teblin Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I just think out luck is out this season, and think we might just go down
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I thought we would survive but after yesterdays results im not so sure. I feel now that relegation looms. It does make things look bleak, but consider this. How many times will ALL the teams around us win? I'll bet that will never happen again from now until next the end of the season. To be honest I thought there was a good chance we would lose to Bristol on Saturday, and that a point would be pleasing, though by no means great. I'm heartened by the performance though. As Etuhu and Hendrie work themselves into the team, and with Clem back, I can only see us getting better!
filbertway Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Nice Unfortunately that doesn't help as they are all thinking the same Probably, but I doubt we're the only team out of all 10 that have a hard run in and think we will go down. The Bristol City game shows we can pull out a performance and on another day 2 or 3 will go in. When we need a big performance we usually pull something out the bag.
demon_dog Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Let's face it, at this present moment in time it looks as if we are deep in the mire, relegation a strong possibility. There is no doubt in my mind that over the last few games there has been an improved performance from the the team. The next couple of games I think are crucial, not only for the result, but also to see if the players are capable of managing to continue playing with the same belief they had in the Preston and Bristol games. These were both games that we could and should have won, things however did not go our way, we have to believe that we can continue to pressure teams and get some goals to win the games. What we do not want to see is the players heads drop if we go behind and then they seem to just go through the motions believing the game lost. They need to believe in themselves, we are capable of beating all of the teams we have yet to play, but only if they remain confident. So. Can we do it, Relegation or Safety, I'll abstain, only time will tell.

The quality is there now, just needs some kind of trigger to get some momentum going.
davieG Posted 9 March 2008 Author Posted 9 March 2008 Thought we did that yesterday! Trouble is once we concede we lose. 3 of our home games will be dour nervous affairs against teams happy to sit back and catch us on the break. I think those 3 teams will be just as keen to get all 3 points as we are, first of all we'll look their best bet for a win and they really need wins to survive just like us. How the hell we've ended up like this with all of Milan's loans I don't know!
Daggers Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 How the hell we've ended up like this with all of Milan's loans I don't know! Maybe someone misunderstood what "Low Interest" should have entailed?
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 The source of such negativity does NOT come from the fans!It comes from watching four years of consistently abysmal lower-league football, fed to us by a succession of managers and players who should never have been allowed anywhere near our club. Too many of those parasites are still around. Once they've led us to relegation they and their equally loathsome agents will be looking for another club so that they can seek to infest another club at this level. We're not being negative. We're telling it as it is. Thank f--k someone can see it has it is, Some off the city fans dont think city look like going down they think its a fairly tale. The forest fans thought that a few years back, Get real
Joe. Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Safety. We'll be fine I think- just. Probably finish around 20th I'd say. Right now I'd be delighted with 21st to be honest.
Head Honcho Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Yesterday was the first time this season that I've thought. Shit! We could go down
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 We've had one of those days where everyone around us wins before, the day of the Wolves game at Molineux. Then I thought we were in trouble, and still think we are now, but I reckon we'll be safe because the other are inconsistent like us, and it's unlikely that the all those teams will pick up results next week. Fact is, there are so many teams tat can be dragged into this with nine games to go, and our run in isn't that difficult, I can see us picking up points alomg the line. However, we need to beat Wednesday, Scunny and Colchester at home. Crucial games.
Alexikokopops Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I thought we would survive but after yesterdays results im not so sure. I feel now that relegation looms. Ditto.
Unit Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Fed up of this, my little brother caught stearman and weso out on the piss on saturday night at some Jack penate gig, where's the commitment? If somebody said to me "quit drinking and play for Leicester or carry and drinking and sit at home, you can't play" I know i'd play for Leicester in a second, none of our players have an fooking pride or passion, I sometimes think we'd be better fielding 11 fans from the crowd than our real team, if we don't stay up I will be writing a very strongly worded letter to at least 22 people!!!!    Oh, my edit: hope to god we'll stay up but the odds are against us!
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I have a nagging feeling that we will somehow get relegated despit having a squad that should be mid table at least, if we lose on Tuesday, Wednesday have Colchester and two games in hand and Saints will have gotten away from us. We'll be in deep trouble. If you look back on a previous seaons there has always been three teams that you would expect us to finish above no matter what, this year there is just Colchester and S****horpe.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Safety. 1) We have the quality at the club to stay up; 2) Last five games have given us 2 wins and a draw - if we keep up that form we'll be fine; 3) Ollie's win ratio is 17% before the window, and 36% after the window - 27% of points obtained compared with 42%
FilboFox Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 I'm back... But only to say I think that we'll stay up... but having sat down and really thought about it, I can see where you are all coming from... we are in very deep shit and it will take some serious effort to get out of this mess... BUT I'm only going to start REALLY worrying if we actually do fall into the relegation zone as then we are under pressure to get out of it and I'm not sure the players have it in them mentally at the moment.
Scaramanga! Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 It's in our own hands really. We've got 5 of the teams around us in the last nine. 3 of which are the current bottom 3. They'll pull through.
Zingari Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 It's in our own hands really. We've got 5 of the teams around us in the last nine. 3 of which are the current bottom 3. They'll pull through. we are definately fooked then

Yeah, Southampton and Wednesday are two absolutely crucial games, I get the feeling that less than 4pts from them and we're down, unless we can create some frankly absurdly good form in our other fixtures.
Raj Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Anyone who thinks we ARE safe are living in cloud Cuckoo land(Where ever that is!) There is too much empathy(what ever that means!!) about us being in that elite club of 8(or 9?) not having been outside the top 2 tiers. We have been close to dropping out in the last 4 years and with all the shite of this season and with MM on board it would be the icing on the cake(If there is a cake!) for us to be relegated THIS season above all. The 3 year plan WILL really look stupid then wont it!!!! BUT having said that....i think we'll finish in the play offs!!!!
Zingari Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 i think we are safe zingari shangri-la cloud cuckoo land
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 For me the biggest worry at the moment his we have not scored since the NORWICH game,But i do think tomorrows game at southampton could turn out to be the most crucial game of the season for us,If we win i think we could possibly stay up-if we lose i think we will be shafted, so for those who can get down to st.marys tomorrow night a yell your heads off.
