Dr The Singh Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Well it was a lose/lose situation with only 20 nominees allowed something had to give, Id I'd have left any of the permanents out someone would have said where's "*********"?Besides Hendrie a hero pah!!! We still have 8 games left (i think), I would have liked to voted at the end of the season!! There's still time for some to go on and become and lose there hero status!!!
davieG Posted 18 March 2008 Author Posted 18 March 2008 No, but I feel the term hero is being used rather loosely in the topic. I wouldn't disagree with the notion of Steraman's overall team/performance contribution has improve, and bloody well about time too! But I'm finding it extremely difficulty to view anyone who plays professional football in this current age as heroes. What exactly have any of the thickest over-paid incompetent cretins done to deserve such a title? Especially Leicester players, who've failed and under achieved over the years on a consistent basis. But the question is not Who is a hero, but who has the potential to be one. I'm sure Walshy wasn't a hero when we were performing shite under Brian Hamilton & David Pleat.

None of the fookers are currently heroes or likely to be even if we went on a 8 game winning streak.

Who's "*********"? Is he any good??? Why are we not playing him? Can he play right back? In fairness, you could have saved 19 spaces on the poll. Just leave Hammond in!! (Trust me, last game of the season 2 minutes to go, Elvis will come on as sub and deflect one in off his arse to keep us up!! It will happen )

I'm sure Walshy wasn't a hero when we were performing shite under Brian Hamilton & David Pleat. Walsh was indeed a good player, but hero? Have you heard the bumwash the bloke spouts on Radio Leicester. Jesus.
Dr The Singh Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Potential to be a hero not who current is? None of the fookers are currently heroes or likely to be even if we went on a 8 game winning streak. Sorry , I should have added 'potential' to the hero bit, there's 8 game and all of them are potentials!!! I still have the potential to be a hero!!!!
Fat Ron Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Walsh was indeed a good player, but hero? Have you heard the bumwash the bloke spouts on Radio Leicester. Jesus. Walsh isnt a hero, he is a Legend. No other player in our History can claim to scoring 2 goals against Derby to win for the first time at Wembley. Nor can any player claim to having 13 Red Cards whilst playing for us!! As for his 'bumwash' chat, you try sitting next to John Barber for 90 minutes!!
davieG Posted 18 March 2008 Author Posted 18 March 2008 Walsh was indeed a good player, but hero? Have you heard the bumwash the bloke spouts on Radio Leicester. Jesus. Now you're getting desperate, he may be an arse on Radio Leicester but I defy you to say he's not an LCFC Football Hero.
Ric Flair Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Walsh was indeed a good player, but hero? Have you heard the bumwash the bloke spouts on Radio Leicester. Jesus. Not a hero? Leading us to Wembley several times, getting sent off against some absolute wankers who deserved to be served, scoring about 20 goals in a season when your meant to be a defender. Making Gary Hopkins squeel live on tv, being injured for an absolute age and then scoring 2 at Wembley against The Shaggers when you can barely run or walk for the first ever victory for us at Wembley. I'm sorry son, but your not half a prat sometimes.
Master Fox Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Now you're getting desperate, he may be an arse on Radio Leicester but I defy you to say he's not an LCFC Football Hero. A hero to me is person who could run into a burning building and rescue someone else’s pet cat from a certain smouldering in a blazing fire. Steve Walsh was/is a Leicester City Football legend for his achievements while serving the club, i can't deny that. But he's still a tit. Let’s not argue. It’s pointless on a forum. It’s like arguing over who has the biggest sized penis.

So basically what your saying is Steve Walsh is a Leicester City Footballing Hero? Excelled yourself there pal.

Legend / Hero you're just being pedantic, I've always used the word Legend even though that is probably incorrect use of language but in this instance Holloway used the word Hero so I just went along with it. Aren't 99% of professional footballers tits - it comes with the job!
Master Fox Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 So basically what your saying is Steve Walsh is a Leicester City Footballing Hero? Excelled yourself there pal. No. If a football player is a hero to you, that’s fine. I think a grew out of looking up to Football players when I was about 12.

That's my point. I did add a little more to original post, sensing I would get some replies like Ric's. I hate these sort of arguements. It just seems pointless and pathetic. Nothing ever gets settled, it just goes around & around. Resulting into a unnecessary slagging match. Pointless
Master Fox Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Pet Cat... Save a Baby = Hero. Save a Pet Cat = Correct. Like an Ice Cream man on a hot summers day.

Thracian Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Walsh was the ultimate football hero for City. There's no doubting he loved that shirt. Walshie wasn't the greatest footballer by a long shot. But he was all heart, all atitude and he conveyed that spirit to all around him which had the most significant effect. I well remember Walshie the attacker. His sheer bloody mindedness scared defenders into mistakes. He scored too, stacks of times but his attitude was copied by others to the point where even the Arsenals and Manchester Uniteds were uneasy when City sent the heavy brigade up for a corner or free-kick. Endless appearances, bloodied shirts, personal confrontations, the shaking fist to his team-mates, together with the considerable achievements and trips to Wembley... it all added up to a warrior and how we could do with such an inspiration today.
Joe. Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 None of them have what it takes to become "heroes" in a Leicester City shirt for me. Until we start to fight for some sort of success in this division they'll continue to be a bunch of Average Joes and unfortunately I think it will remain this way.

If your talking about them being a hero in the sense where I look up to them, then I agree with you, I also grew out of that many years ago. In the footballing sense though Steve Walsh is a Leicester Hero and luckily I was about 12 when Walsh was in his prime for us and was likely to be a hero I looked up to. I was mightily impressed by his ability to nail other players birds as well.

Ric Flair Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Didnt he have a fiddle with Mrs Little as well in the 90's? That i've never heard before, but if so, yet another tick on the hero sheet.
Fat Ron Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 That i've never heard before, but if so, yet another tick on the hero sheet. I could be wrong but I seem to recall the rumour doing the rounds ( as was Walshie ). Good old Bri was stopping at the Holiday Inn I heard.
