Don't no if Scunnys keeper is normally that impressive, but he was saving everything that came near him against us.

Possible bid in the summer?

He's not that great.

Ian Walker made mistakes, David James made/makes mistakes, you don't think Henderson is a better keeper than those do you? Even Fulop made a cock up in his last game for us.

Exactly, that why it amazes me that he is always made the scapegoat. On here, Henderson is viewed as the dog shite on the bottom of Fulop's shoe which is disgraceful. There is no doubting Fulop is the better keeper but Henderson is adequate for the position we are in and people need to realise Alnwick isn't much better than him, if at all.

He sounds alright to me. Who else is there then?

Joe has taken well to Chanpionship life and the goalkeeper was put on stand-by for the Republic of Ireland squad in October, and finally received a recall to the full squad - four years after his last cap - in November.

When he signed from Sunderland in the summer of 2006 club manager Brian Laws enthused that, in Joe Murphy, the Iron had signed a goalkeeper of the highest quality - and looking at his performances for the Club since joining it is hard to dispute that fact.

He went on to become, undoubtedly, the best goalkeeper in the division during his first season of the club - keeping an amazing 24 clean sheets and helping himself to a League One 'Golden Glove' and a spot in the PFA League One team of the season in the process.

In addition to that haul, Murphy also scooped numerous player-of-the-year awards at the end of the campaign. As well as all that, he also managed to strike the crossbar from the halfway line in Soccer AM's crossbar challenge.

A tremendous shotstopper, Murphy controlled his area with pride in 2006/07 and was a pivotal part of the club's promotion. His experience of playing in the Championship will no doubt prove invaluable next season.

He's ****ing rubbish! He's not the reason we're losing alot of games but his serial gaffs aren't helping, with Ian Walker and David James the odd mistake is mad up for by decent displays the majority of games. With Henderson that fact that he occasionally puts in a decent display is tarnished by the fact that he makes god awfull mistakes every other game.

I can't believe anyone is suggesting he's good enough to play first team in this league. We need a goalkeeper. One better than Henderson.

Dont be ridiculous.

Its fairly evident to most that Alnwicks the better keeper.

Please tell me some examples of mistakes before saturday's mistake (I'm seriously intrigued), and not just shots that you believe he should have saved.

The man's communication with the defence every time a cross comes in to the box is enough to scare police horses. He flaps at crosses and has a tendancy to punch anything that comes near him instead of using his initiative and trying to catch the ball where possible. Punching the ball should be seen as a last resort because it invariably gives posession straight back to the opposition in dangerous areas.

His performance away at QPR this season will never ever leave me, it was worse than anything i've seen from a goalkeeper since Kalac's horror show for us.

I was about to say how can he not remember QPR lol.

Then there was the follow up at Southampton when he came out flapping for the second goal and got nowhere near it.

Then there is this weekends debarcle.

The blokes anyplayed about 10 games and theres three howlers without going into what he should of saved and what he shouldn't of.

I'd definitely welcome Alnwick back into the team. Although Henderson has proved me wrong slightly and filled in well for Alnwick I still don't think he's anywhere near good enough for this level.

Somebody I'd hope we go for in the summer is Joe Murphy. With S****horpe likely to be relegated I would have thought he might be looking away for a bigger club, and he's certainly good enough from what I've seen of him. Probably available at a reasonable price too.

I'm with Manwell Pablo on the Joe Murphy is crap bandwagon I'm afraid. He is poor. One good game doesn't mean he's amazing, like all of you are saying that Henderson is rubbish (not replying to your post in particular Joe) but Hendo has good games like Villa the other season and many more :dunno: What about Adriano Basso or why not just splash the cash on Fulop?

I was massively impressed with Luke McCormack from Plymouth as well against us in recent seasons, admittedly i've not seen that much of him against teams that can score though.

One good permormance? He kept 24 clean sheets last season, admittedly in League 1, but that is still some achievement.

And he was the best keeper in the League winning the golden glove + he's had a cap for Ireland.

He's underrated. As for Basso, he could be playing in the Prem next season.

He's decent.

Manwell never said Murphy was rubbish did he? EDIT: Ahh I see he said not that great.

But anyway, I'm not basing my Murphy argument on one game. I've seen him play a good few times and I've never seen him play badly, very well in fact. Add that to good reports I've heard about him as well.

I think he's exactly the sort of player we need to be going for.

He's a good league one keeper, but you have to remember S****horpe were amazing last season.

He's probable better than what we have, but I'd hope if we're going to bring a new keeper in he'd be better than Joe Murphy.

Ben Alnwick is just as likely to make elementary mistakes as Henderson, Watford (A) and Plymouth (H) spring to mind.

Elementary mistakes, don't make me laugh. The Plymouth goal at the Walkers in particular was nothing compared to Henderson's horror shows at QPR, Southampton and now Sheffield United. He just doesn't inspire confidence at all. It's a shame for him that Alnwick is fit now because he might not have got in a week or two ago but after that second Beattie goal he deserves to be dropped. Just when we needed to weather the storm and try to come back, he threw the game away completely.

End of

I think both ben and Paul have made mistakes this season, but that's football. The fact we can't score is far more important. Yes there were defensive and prob keeper errors on sat, but for the love of god... I think a few people on here have a stick up their arse! Support your team!!! No ****er would get any confidence from the bitterness on here!
