davieG Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Wesolowski waiting for call The battling qualities of Leicester City midfielder James Wesolowski are on stand-by for today's vital relegation clash with fellow strugglers S****horpe United at the Walkers Stadium. Skipper Stephen Clemence is still out and Matt Oakley is struggling with a foot injury so the Aussie could step in alongside Lee Hendrie if Oakley does not make it. It would be a welcome return for the teenager who has suffered more than his fair share of injuries, the latest being hamstring trouble from which he is fully recovered - and he is eager to lend his efforts to City's battle. He has had to be patient but it looks as if he could feature in at least some part of the action. He said: “There are a lot of good midfielders at this club so I have just had to work hard in training and try to push for a place. “I can't wait to get out there. I haven't played for a few months and I will give 100 per cent to get us up the table because I don't like the look of where we are. “The opportunity may have come for me, maybe through a few injuries. But hopefully, if I get the chance, I can go out there and take it.” Those who really have to take the chances, though, are City's front men who have twice recently battered in four goals in a game. But they have shown the inconsistency that has afflicted the team as a whole. City manager Ian Holloway knows the importance of which way the opening goal falls in terms of the team's morale. City were impressive at West Brom for that stunning 4-1 win but, when Hull went ahead last week, the side failed to respond in the same way. He said: “I will be watching the body language if we go behind because, when I see shoulders go down, that is not acceptable. We have to fight our way out of this situation and everyone knows it.” Newcomer David Bell from Luton should be on the bench. His last-minute signing formalities were not completed for him to take part in training yesterday and it would be asking a lot to throw him straight in. Although it looks like it to many, this is not a must-win game. That may well come in the approaching weeks but three points today would not be enough to make City safe. A loss, while very harmful, would not be decisive either. But City know that have to show their good side, as they did at West Brom, and not the reverse as they illustrated against Hull last week. No wonder Holloway and the fans will be watching and waiting to see which Leicester City turns up this afternoon - and it just has to be the good one.

He should have been back in the team two weeks ago.

He's not bald Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I'm so wound up for this game already - and haven't touched a drop of the amber inspiration yet. It's not complicated today...win or bust..I'm off to the Black Lion to get "larruped" just in case it's bust!
Thracian Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 It's not complicated today...win or bust..I'm off to the Black Lion to get "larruped" just in case it's bust! And I'm planning an early start at the Swan for the same reason. Besides even one extra Barbars will turn those blue shirts into Gods for 90 minutes. The illusionary qualities of that beer just have to be believed...my son reminds me that I once danced with a lamp-post near the hospital because I thought it was beautiful. Either that beer has awesome powers or my wife has gone downhill fast!

Either that beer has awesome powers or my wife has gone downhill fast! give each city player some of that and tell them that the jade goody is running towards the goal and you have to hit her as hard as you can with the ball to score! hit her with THE BALL not YOUR BALLS LEE HENDRIE
