Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Personally I didn't even bother listening to Birchenall. I don't need him to motivate me for any game, never mind one as big as today. Anyone who felt more "up for it" today because of that obviously isn't that bothered.
LeeCovFox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 One thing did annoy me today. The implication by some that those who do not stand at a football maych are somehow less supportive of the club. Rubbish. It is up to the individual how they express their support. I am supportive of the idea of safe standing areas. But I am not supportive of those who deride other fans because they approach games differently. One particularly oafish individual, a young lad with 'willow' and 'lcfc' tattoed on his arms I found offensive. Swearing and abusing other fans because they were not standing. Some of you may know him. I do not wish to. What a horrible specimen of human being. People like him, it seems to me, are the very reason why those who wish to stand in a civilised manner have a bad name. He does your cause no favours.

I think most people agree, and again, the root of the problem goes back to the lack of safe standing area. It's been discussed in great depth on here.

He was quite fair in how he dished out his abuse though because he was offensive, swearing and abusing Holloway in equal amounts

I am one who wishes to stand a support the team but i would never dream of abusing my Fellow Foxes Fans (Aliteration there folks ) If they are not up to being abit animated.

What is the significance of "Willow" ? Does he weep a lot ?

If we pay for our ticket we should be able to do what we want, within reason obviously - watch the game and support the team or not?
FilboFox Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 What's all the fuss about L1? From over in E1 where we were making a right racket, it seemed dead over in that corner... I'm ready to be proved wrong or for someone to tell me otherwise but it seemed that E1 were really up for it today... well yesterday now.

One of them was a young black haired angry youth and the other was the ginger haired oaf... the both of them were down right out of line with their abuse. We were singing and showing support but just because we choose to sit between attacks doesn't mean we aren't good fans. Its for those idiots that we need safe standing areas so we can keep them away from the, just as loyal, but more passive/calm fans.

Its for those idiots that we need safe standing areas so we can keep them away from the, just as loyal, but more passive/calm fans. They were the two main culprits. There were others. But the young black haired one I found to be particularly irksome. Trying to play the 'hardman', when a stiff breeze would take him off his feet. Cleary the playground bully. Not big, not clever. Just thick.

kyleolly Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Having just come away from this afternoon's game I wish to say that I am sooooo proud of the Blue Army today (the fans, not the players) - we remained singing even when we went one-nil down. In my mind, neither the team nor Silly Ollie deserve it (except Stearman - well done today lad you kept going from start to finish) - but the fans never stopped spurring em on - amazing really when you think that we were struggling at home against a side already relegated. Is this a joke if u thought the atmosphere or lack of was good today please dont go barnsley u will shit yourself
Filberts lovechild Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Birch got the fans singing at the start of the game and everyone was clapping he was getting everyone motivated maybe he shouls try going in the dressing rooms and getting the players motivated no matter how good the fans are the players are always shit Yeah I thought that was good from the Birch, but to improve the atmosphere in the stadium could they not just let the fans keep singing instead of switching the music on over the speakers
