isaidno Posted 23 April 2008 Author Posted 23 April 2008 Worth going then? I'm definitely going to go next year. Did you wear you City shirt in the end? Yeah , there's was me and one other chap in our city shirts.Well worth it, got 4 hours of snooker. If I go back I'll go on the train. Sheffield city centre is a nightmare & it cost me £6 to park me car
SamL Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Yeah , there's was me and one other chap in our city shirts.Well worth it, got 4 hours of snooker. If I go back I'll go on the train. Sheffield city centre is a nightmare & it cost me £6 to park me car I think I may have seen you. Yeah, that's gunna be my plan as well. Train is much easier, and it's pretty much in the center of town. £12 for 4 hours is a blummin' bargain.
dandannieldanok Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Ronnie 3-0 up. I'd be surprised if he dropped a frame, his opponent is very inexperienced.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 I'd be surprised if he dropped a frame, his opponent is very inexperienced. Just as you have said that Liu has just won a frame with a classy century.
dandannieldanok Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Just as you have said that Liu has just won a frame with a classy century. Well played Liu.
isaidno Posted 23 April 2008 Author Posted 23 April 2008 Trying to get tickets for 1 of the weekend matches but looks like they have all sold out
SamL Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Latest Scores:- Ken Doherty (Ire) 4-9 Liang Wenbo (Chn) Stephen Maguire (Sco) 4-0 Anthony Hamilton (Eng) Tomorrows order of play:- Thursday 24 April - order of play 1400 BST:Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Liu Chuang (Chn) Mark King (Eng) v Peter Ebdon (Eng) 1900 BST: John Higgins (Sco) v Ryan Day (Wal) Stephen Maguire (Sco) v Anthony Hamilton (Eng)
Ultra Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 O'Sullivan's only 5-4 up. He needs to up his game. All the Chinese players have been impressive so far. I don't think any of them can win the title this year but it may not be too long before they do. That could have massive implications for the game.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 April 2008 Posted 24 April 2008 That could have massive implications for the game. In a good way though.
isaidno Posted 25 April 2008 Author Posted 25 April 2008 The best players so far have been Robertson, Higgins , Maguire & Murphy . Higgins vs Murphy final for me
SamL Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 The best players so far have been Robertson, Higgins , Maguire & Murphy . Higgins vs Murphy final for me Can't argue with that. Even Ronnie seems a bit off the boil this tournament.
isaidno Posted 25 April 2008 Author Posted 25 April 2008 O' Sullivan plays Williams next. Should be the match of the 2nd round. I could of had a ticket for Robertson vs Maguire on Sunday right at the front but turned it down
Ultra Posted 25 April 2008 Posted 25 April 2008 Can't argue with that. Even Ronnie seems a bit off the boil this tournament. Still plenty of time for him to find form though..
SamL Posted 26 April 2008 Posted 26 April 2008 Did anyone see Ali Carters double fluke? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_spor...ker/7367728.stm
isaidno Posted 26 April 2008 Author Posted 26 April 2008 Did anyone see Ali Carters double fluke? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_spor...ker/7367728.stm I can't believe Carters winning, he was rubbish in the 1st round
isaidno Posted 26 April 2008 Author Posted 26 April 2008 The best players so far have been Robertson, Higgins , Maguire & Murphy . Higgins vs Murphy final for me Couldn't have been more wrong. Higgins out, Murphy 12-4 down. The title is Maguires for the taking now. 8-0 up against Robertson
SamL Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Personally, I think the winner will be either O'Sullivan or Maguire unless there are any more shocks.
SamL Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 Hendry. Good shout. I haven't seen him play much in this tournament so can't really comment on him. A 13-7 win for Hendry against Ding Junhui was a good result. It shows his class isn't fading.

It shows his class isn't fading. Yep true, it also shows you can be having a great season (Selby) and get bombed out first round, or be having a below par season (Hendry) and still have a fighting chance. After Selby, Hendry is my favourite player.
isaidno Posted 28 April 2008 Author Posted 28 April 2008 It's the final session of O'sullivan vs Williams this afternoon. Should be a close finish
Benjani Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Im hooked on this. I've even got my sister watching it now . Hendry to win
