Uncle Albert Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Barnsley just because of the result. But was very difficult.
lavrentis Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I very much so enjoyed Barnsley, but if we won at Blackpool It would have made it even more special.
Joe. Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Probably yesterday or Cardiff for me. And Chelsea. And West Brom! Shit, forgot Bristol as well.
SamL Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Probably Barnsleh or Chelsea for me. Sheff Yoo and West Brom weren't too bad though.
lildave3 Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Yesterday, Cardiff, West Brom off the top of my head are the best ones. Oh, and Bristol.
SamL Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Yesterday, Cardiff, West Brom off the top of my head are the best ones. Oh, and Bristol. Ah yes, Bristol. I'd forgotten about that one. That's gotta be up there as well, good performance that day. It provided some hope that we could make something of this season but sadly it wasn't to be.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Can't complain really. I've had nine absolutely fantastic away days this season, in the following order; 1. Barnsley 2. Nottingham Forest 3. Cardiff 4. Chelsea 5. Sheffield United 6. Crystal Palace 7. Bristol City 8. Aston Villa 9. Sheffield Wednesday
Uncle Albert Posted 20 April 2008 Author Posted 20 April 2008 I should now maybe of added alot more games to this poll.
Koke Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Barnsley Chelsea Forest Sheffield United Aston Villa Crystal Palace But I missed Cardiff and West Brom.

All the rest were pretty special.
WetFlannel Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Yesterday, Cardiff, West Brom off the top of my head are the best ones. Oh, and Bristol. So basically everyone we won then
Thracian Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 It's hard to separate them. I didn't go yesterday but for the non-stop humour and sheer determination to enjoy themselves whatever, Sheffield United will remain in my mind for a long time. It sounds daft but I really enjoyed the trip to Accrington as well, good pub, lots of banter and the sheer idiocy of being there I suppose watching an inconsequencial game in the drizzle while Jobber banged his drum in my left earhole. If it wasn't for the shit football we serve up so often I'd much prefer away games to home games but, while we've been bad at home too, I'll never purge my mind of Burnley away last season and Blackpool/Hull away this season. I think it was Fez said the secret is to forget the football and just revel in the comeraderie. If it was, he's so right.

Considering we'd beaten Coventry 3-0 a few days before, we didn't play with a lot of confidence at all. At least we got a result out of a poor performance though, an own goal if I remember rightly. Burnley weren't too special that night either. Fortunately I wasn't able to attend Blackpool/Hull but the worst I've seen them play away from home was probably Charlton.
Phlashman Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Chelsea was a good day out, even the ride home (with huge detours around random small villages at 3am) was great. Sitting in traffic made up of City fans going slighty mental, the guys in front of us were rocking out to nursery rhymes. Forest (the second one obviously) was great with that last minute comeback. Villa wasn't to shabby ethier.

Villa wasn't to shabby ethier. The bus ride home was horrible. I didn't get back home until 4.30am and had college the next day. I suppose it couldn't be helped though. I couldn't sleep on the coach either.

SamL Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 BarnsleyAccrington Stanley Forest Take 2 Worst Southampton Tuesday night. Norwich Coventry Southampton Tuesday night was pretty bad. In fact, the cup game wasn't that much better either. I didn't think we were too bad against Norwich? It was one of the more entertaining 0-0 draws and could've gone either way.

Had to listen to people talk as if they no everything in the world. Moved but got sent back. Long journey home. Actually the best part of going to Norwich was going to Bedford on the way which says it all!
Simi Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Best. Forest. Chelsea. West Brom. Barnsley. Accy. Palace. Sheff Yoo. Worst. Charlton. Hull. Cov.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Chelsea was excellent and my favourite (apart from the letterbox view at the back of the lower tier ), Barnsley runs it very close though. From other recent(ish) seasons, my favourite is Reading away in the FA Cup.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I've only seen us play genuinely badly away from home about six or seven times this season, although I didn't go to any of the horror shows in December. We only played well at home in one game before Christmas.

There wasn't much of an atmosphere that day either. The worst away atmosphere of the season has got to be either Plymouth/Southampton(Tuesday night)/Norwich.
