well yeah probs. i should kind of get over martin allen but not trying to raise the arguement up again but im sure we wouldnt be any w orse off if he hadnt been sacked.

We may have been better placed in the league because there would have been less upheaval if martin allen was still there but you must surely be able to see he would have to have sold nearly all the players he bought in during the summer because they we simply worse than what was already at the club. They were worse than useless. Milan made a mistake getting him in and was let down by megson (THANK GOD HE LEFT) but at least had the balls to sack him when he did.

Like the last time I crashed a motorbike, time was suspended for me when the ball got to Barry. My memory of it is of Hayles holding the ball up for something approaching 10 minutes before Humey poked it in.

That video is great, the interplay leading up to the goal was superb...and some people still say that Holloway isn't having an effect on the team.

Its such a weird feeling! It was the same with the Campbell goal at Chelsea for me it seemed to take hours! But what a great feeling at the end of it :)

Is there some jobsworth in the league whose job it is to vet all youtube videos ?

It's of interest mainly to people who went, so what's the problem ??

Awaiting a new link with anticipation....

At least Allen was getting some decent performances out of his signings, which is more than can be said of the managers who took over from him.

You reckon the loss to Blackpool on the opening game of the season, the turgid 1 - 0 win against Accrington Stanley (a club struggling in the 2nd division) and the relinquishment of a 2-1 lead against Crystal Palace were signs of decent performances?

:dunno:

Watford was good.

Any chance of the much acclaimed Barnsley video appearing on a website that doesn't attract the attention of the Football League Gestapo ?

Yes, Watford was good, but then, so were WBA and Norwich.

If you're going to judge a manager on only a few hand picked games (instead of looking at the whole picture) then you should at least extend the courtesy to all the managers, surely?

Even in defeat against Blackpool, we still created more chances than in most home games this season. Accrington was a win in difficult conditions and the Palace game was still viewed at the time as a decent point.

Under Allen, the side averaged TWO league goals per game, far better than recent managers before and since.

Whatever happened behind the scenes, it is quite remarkable that Allen STILL finds himself without work. Surely someone with a record like him would attract a lot of attention around League One level, no? That indicates to me that there was good reason for MM to sack Allen...

He took a break after leaving Leicester, said so on Sky Sports News a couple of days after the "One Martin Allen" incident at the City Ground. Was half-linked with the Swindon job when Paul Sturrock joined Plymouth and has only really expressed interest in Huddersfield this season. So for most of the season, his unemployment has been by choice.
