jamfox Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Does anybody remember? It’s a while ago, but I think I remember this?????????????????????? on the last game of the season? We were mid table doing nothing, doing Boro 1-3 at there old ground and Spoiling there party. I went on the train 14years old. The police saw we looked lost and took us to the game in the paddy wagon for our own protection. They all had promotion party tea shirts, 21000 were in total silence when the tanoy gave the other results at the end… 500 Leicester fans laughed and there got a bit upset and were being held back by police dogs while people sang "come on in"… Happy Days! You never know? The turnip munching, donkey worrying clown and his bunch of disappointments might do the same and piss on stoks chips while saving there own skin. and if we do... I expect there to be a similar reaction in that dump of a town stoke when we sing “you gona loose in the playoffs” You can dream ; ) Note: Disappointments do not include Hume, Weso, Kisnorbo,Bell,Hendry, Stermen or Henderson.

Fat Ron Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Well, no. I love your one liners, they have me chuckling to myself all day!!
purpleronnie Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I don't remember that at all what year are we talking about?
mr wallington Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I remember that. It was around '88 I think at Boro's old ground and we completely pissed on their promotion party. Didn't we win 2-1 though? McAllister scored a 30-yard screamer if my memory serves me correct. Oh and hello everyone!
Ultra Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I remember that. It was around '88 I think at Boro's old ground and we completely pissed on their promotion party. Didn't we win 2-1 though? MacAllister scored a 30-yard screamer if my memory serves me correct.Oh and hello everyone! Yeah it was 2-1, 87-88. We have no-one like McAllister (or Steve Walsh) in the current squad though..

jamfox Posted 28 April 2008 Author Posted 28 April 2008 I don't remember that at all what year are we talking about? 1987 / 1989 i think...
purpleronnie Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Oh ok, I didn't go but I think we got relegated the season before and had a pretty crappy following season.
SantiagoFox Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I was at Boro; what got me was that none of the boro planks seemed to realise they'd cocked it up! The tannoy announcer very slowly explained the other results and said that "this apparently means we are not promoted" or words to that effect. Had to look very disappointed on the way back to the station!
Kilworthfox Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 If we did though... Thats what dreams are made of. No It's what good honest sides are made of, no frauds in that line up

Chairman of the Bored Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I was there. Peter Weir ripped them apart. Then the Boro fans nearly ripped us apart. Lovely place that old Ayresome Park.
crisp monster Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 i was up for the game with some boro lads just went for a weekend on the piss and stood with them in the Hollgate end. bit nasty afterwards cos the Leicester were takin the piss and i was outside trying to get my mates to go to the pub we played really well that day but the next season was a disaster nearly as bad as this one
Ultra Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Too right. We couldn't string two wins together then, either..
