A perverted part of me is already excited about next season, new stadiums, terracing, our arrival at a club being a big event for them etc We may well struggle again with our current squad, things need to change BUT who can we Honestly expect to sign, anyone with any League 1 knowledge? ----cue 'funny' responses-------- Seriously, i'm curious who we could get - our future starts here

Danny Livesey-Carlisle (if they dont go up) Solid centre back definately worth a ago.But he is a very important player for them so would have to take some convincing.

Bryn Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Deffo should try and raid some of Gradel's ex-teammates at Bournemouth. McLeod on loan wouldn't be a bad signing if he's fit come the start of next season, and after the season he's had not entirely unrealistic.
happyhippy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 If you need a scorer, then possibly look at ex-Sheffield United Academy prospect Kevan Hurst, who is currently at Scunny. He was at Chesterfield on loan because he couldn't get into the United side with Beattie, Hulse and the like, but he's quick; just needs the ball just right. You may have missed out on a stop-gap centre back in Robert Page, who I believe is about to sign for Chesterfield, but if you could quickly lure him, he'd do a good job, as old as he is. We're also about to release Geoff Horsfield who could get bucketloads for you. Chris Lucketti might be another stop-gap at centre back for you. Rob Kozluk seems to be well in at Barnsley, but could be tempted to go further south and would be a more than capable right back in League 1. A lethal long throw too when you need the long ball (which you will). Some old heads, and some invigorated young players (on the cheap) will hopefully see you back up I never thought I'd see the day where I posted a bloody blue and white scarf anywhere If I can think of any others, I'll ruin the price and let you know!
