Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Yeah from last year. I think. And so many muppets at wembley. Wish Torquay had won Turned it off after 20 minutes. Helen Chamberlain was superb. What a woman, and such a passionate fan. You could feel her disappointment at full time. Peter Taylor has to be the worst co-commentator in the world, comparing one player to Emile Heskey !?
Ajax Treesdown Posted 11 May 2008 Author Posted 11 May 2008 Yeah from last year. I think. And so many muppets at wembley. Wish Torquay had won Turned it off after 20 minutes. You're the muppet turning it off!! Twatto!
SamL Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 You're the muppet turning it off!!Twatto! I think his point was that there were too many fake fans there who were just there for the day out. Yes Ebbsfleet took about 25,000 but how many of them turn up week in, week out?

Yes Ebbsfleet took about 25,000 but how many of them turn up week in, week out? Same with every club. Where are the 40,000 Leicester 'fans' at the Walkers who went to all the cup finals?
SamL Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Same with every club.Where are the 40,000 Leicester 'fans' at the Walkers who went to all the cup finals? Unfortunately, it's true. Although, with Ebbsfleet its worse. It was a good idea selling shares to the public and everything, but they've been made into a tourist attraction which has killed the club. In the long run, it secures their future but is it really good for the game?

In the long run, it secures their future but is it really good for the game? We'll see, but i'd rather give money to a conference club than a premiership club. Chris McPhee over Wayne Rooney anyday!!! Plus, they're not complaining this morning.........Up the Fleet!!
Webbo Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 I ought to be happy as I've got a share in this club. However the fact that we've bought a club in the most south easterly corner of the country possible tells me that this has been set up for the convenience of the cockneys and home counties brigade. I shan't be renewing next year.

However the fact that we've bought a club in the most south easterly corner of the country possible tells me that this has been set up for the convenience of the cockneys and home counties brigade. I shan't be renewing next year. This was the reason I didn't buy a share in the club.
Corky Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Same with every club.Where are the 40,000 Leicester 'fans' at the Walkers who went to all the cup finals? You will get hangers-on, but most of those were die-hards who went every week or tried to go every week, but for some reason couldn't.
ousefox Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 £25, shouldn't they have been trying to get as many fans as they could??
uggie_13 Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Helen Chamberlain was superb. What a woman, and such a passionate fan. You could feel her disappointment at full time.Peter Taylor has to be the worst co-commentator in the world, comparing one player to Emile Heskey !? would this be the same helen chamberlain who has only been to one of our games this season previously to this and that game was our big game at home to exeter! as much as i appreciate the coverage she gets us she still only turns out for the big games!
Corky Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 would this be the same helen chamberlain who has only been to one of our games this season previously to this and that game was our big game at home to exeter! as much as i appreciate the coverage she gets us she still only turns out for the big games! She does work on Saturday mornings, maybe she could get to more midweek games but still. She does give you a lot of coverage you wouldn't ordinarily, I'm sure if she had the chance she'd go to every single match.
SamL Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 £25, shouldn't they have been trying to get as many fans as they could?? £25 Adults and £12.50 for concessions, I thought they were pretty good prices for Wembley.
Leicester Rule! Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 £25 Adults and £12.50 for concessions, I thought they were pretty good prices for Wembley. Same price as for England matches
SamL Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Same price as for England matches I tried to order tickets for an England match, £40 for an Adult with restricted view.
Uncle Albert Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 I tried to order tickets for an England match, £40 for an Adult with restricted view. What part of an open stadium is restricted?
SamL Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 What part of an open stadium is restricted? I suppose if you're right at the top, part of the roof might impair your vision? I don't know. But I wanted to order tickets for the England vs USA game and it was £50 for a normal adult ticket, or £40 for an adult ticket with restricted view. Don't ask me, it's what it said on the site.
Corky Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 What part of an open stadium is restricted? When some 6-foot-6 bloke stands up in front of you, standing in between two fat blokes?
Floating Fox Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 You're the muppet turning it off!!Twatto! Erm how many of the 25000 "fleet" ( ) fans were watching the club last season? I would bet half the actual gravesend fans didn't bother going. Can't stand the club. Hope they rot.

Could you imagine Leicester being renamed?

Could you imagine Leicester being renamed? Wasn't pointing to the fact that they were 'glory hunting', so to speak (only going to the big games), just to the fact that for most of them it was their first "fleet" game, and if it wasn't none of them would have seen them before this season. They didn't get renamed because of this website thing.Just in case you thought so... Was because they had a kant for a chairman who then sold out to the website...
act smiley Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I can understand everyone wanting to get together on the internet to buy a club if it were something like "LetsSaveRotherham/Halifax/Bournemouth/Whicheverteamissuffering.com", but what they're about is more than a little absurd.
Corky Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 They didn't get renamed because of this website thing.Just in case you thought so... No, I knew that. Still not right though.
Simi Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I tried to order tickets for an England match, £40 for an Adult with restricted view. Restricted view? In a stadium that cost £800 million. Unbeleivable. Wankers.
