lookwhaticando Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 It's at times like these where we need a BartonFox style 'the truth is out there' comment. It's out there, but where? Walking in a Weetabix wonderland.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I reckon Mandaric will stay or at least next season. After that it gets a bit sketchy, whether we get promoted or not. But think about? Mandaric is a businessman first and a football man second. He's come in and bought LCFC for £20million + He's invested more in transfers/managers. If he sells now there is no way he would make a return and breaking even is extremely unlikely. Therefore he'll want to stay won't he? The only reason he hasn't come out and said immediatly that he will stay, is because, due to his business mind, he will always scout out the possibility that some would buy it for more than he's paid.

No he didn't!!!!!!
Tilley Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 no he didnt what? Pay more than 20million plus. davieG highlighted that bit. I believe he brought Leicester for 10 mil (I might be wrong though)

Webbo Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Pay more than 20million plus.davieG highlighted that bit. I believe he brought Leicester for 10 mil (I might be wrong though) He paid around £400k but he's had to guarantee some of the debts, I think.

davieG Posted 7 May 2008 Author Posted 7 May 2008 ok fair enough - but either way he will want profit He could get his money back by selling some of the players he bought along with McAuley, Mattock and Stearman and still give the club away for nothing. Problem is, even then no one would want it with the stadium debt and a bunch of under performing football employees.
josh_baskin Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Ive heard a rumour from which i know to be a strong source closely linked to the club that Gazza has tabled a bid to buy leicester city, on all the front pages tomorrow aparently. Hope for the sake of the club this is just a bad rumour as we've have already dropped a division quicker than his trousers did!
iancognito Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 As someone who used to work for Dunelm and whose missus still does, I can categorically tell you that the tightarse Adderley family would never put their cash into football. They know nothing about football and unless they can buy it for 10p and sell it for a pound, they have no interest in it whatsoever. David Wilson donated something like £12M to charity last year so he's obviously not careful with his money. At £738M and rising, he can probably afford a Championship club though rather than us. That's two parades pissed on, anyone got any more?
LeeCovFox Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I feel slightly ridiculous saying this because I tend to scoff at this who say this kind of thing when I read it myself. Here goes anyway. According to a close friends dad, who is involved in football predominantly with Coventry, but has associates within our own club, Mandaric wants out, but will not sell to anybody who won't provide evidence that the future of the club will be secure. I have no reason to doubt this, although of course he could just be wrong. Its certainly at odds with what Mandaric has said publicly, but it would make sense to a certain extent, if he was willing to sell up so long as he didn't emerge as the villain of the piece, by leaving the club in good hands.
CKB Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I have a friend who lives in Germany and while working in his bratwurst, beer bar, BBB it's called, Stefan Freund spoke to him and told him he is tabled a bid for Leicester City, he told him if the deal went through he would install Duncan Ferguson as manager

I don't believe a word of it to be honest, just thought I'd throw it in as I'd just been told. It is a rumours thread afterall.

Seriously tho going to your post, if Mandaric ever did sell up i hope it would be on them grounds and not just some wannabe who just sticks us straight into admin! The future of the football club needs to be in good hands, with Mandaric it is well in that way but his decisions are hurting us in another! double edged sword!
