Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 May 2008 Author Posted 8 May 2008 Wouldn't 'When You're Smiling' be slightly better than 'When The Whole World Laughs At Smiles With You' ? Maybe one or two of the top posters could put the lyrics into their sigs so those that don't know it, can see what is being sung. Or just make it a bloody sticky. In my opinion - When You're Smiling is just a song title, whereas The Whole World Smiles With You is slightly more abstract, sounds better as a "slogan" or saying, looks better on the flag and will still encourage the song to be sung - which is let's face it probably about the only unique song we have.

Keep the Faith is of a bygone era and frankly I for one found it a patronising and insulting slogan. Others like Foxes Never Quit are again of a bygone era and would be ironic in the extreme if related to the team rather than the fans. I know it was only meant as a joke but 'How the **** did we end up here?' quite appeals to me, not just for this division but in an ironic way if we got promoted to the championship or even the premiership.

It does have a nice twang to it but as Fez said he'd like to get the club on side and they wont appreciate that slogan.

I am fairly sure this is the sort of thing I am going to go with in the end simply because the current badge is the most popular but this will be relatively cheap to produce compared to the 1970s one. The 1980s one seems a bit "marmite". Using the fox from the current badge will make it look more professional IMO. Although I'd welcome feedback on it, I'd prefer for it to mainly be related to the text at the bottom now as I'm fairly sure this is what we're going to go with, generally speaking. So - THE WHOLE WORLD SMILES WITH YOU. Thoughts? Some of the funny suggestions have been really good but we can't use any of them if we're going to get help from the club. The reduced representation of that picture doesn't look very good but if you click on it and view it at 100% I think that looks pretty bloody good. NO reference to LG1,No bollox about being on loan,no negativity etc..... In my humble opinion,thats about spot on Fezzler. Well done matey!

I'm worried about it too, but we gotta be positive - I'm not automatically expecting us to win it or anything - I'm not that stupid, but we gotta go in with a positive attitude that if we work hard we can get out....

The original designs did have the white strip across the middle but I'm not sure whether it works quite as well with the badge on.

I think if we had the 80's Badge on Joe.'s idea that would make it look better.
