SamL Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Yes but he is coming towards the end of his career now, he would be guranteed first team football with us in League 1, which he probably wouldn't get in the Championship, unless he went to Forest or Swansea or summat. He was on the bench a bit at Sheff Utd. When he was injury free, he proved with us what a quality player he is. I think he'd make it into a team pushing for the play offs if he has the right attitude.
Daggers Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 When he was injury free, he proved with us what a quality player he is. I think he'd make it into a team pushing for the play offs if he has the right attitude. Definitely. IF he can remain injury free. Hopefully he can but no one believes he can and so he ends up with us by default.

Jimmy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 No.And he was too injured for my liking anyway. he got ONE injury
happyhippy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Yes but he is coming towards the end of his career now, he would be guranteed first team football with us in League 1, which he probably wouldn't get in the Championship, unless he went to Forest or Swansea or summat. He was on the bench a bit at Sheff Utd. He tended to be on the treatment table for us (Sheffield United), and performed better there. He ambled about and sulked with us, and was bitterly disappointing. We certainly don't want him, but he was signed on a three year contract from Villa on silly money, and so. We may let him go on a free anyway and pay his severance fee, but his wages, as you all say, will the stumbling block for most clubs. Good luck for next year!
happyhippy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 he got ONE injury And it appears to have lasted about six years.
Mr Happy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 I'd love it if Hendrie stayed with us, he'd certainly help us with a promotion push straight away, but sadly as its been mentioned his wages will be a problem unless hes willing to take more than a half pay cut. Who knows though stranger things have happened.
Jimmy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 And it appears to have lasted about six years. no he got injured against Barnsley and missed 2 games
Scow Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 Why are we actually having this debate? There's more chance of Thracian admitting he was wrong about Shee han/Elvis than Hendrie staying.
happyhippy Posted 11 May 2008 Posted 11 May 2008 no he got injured against Barnsley and missed 2 games And we got him as he was having another knee operation, and then he was injured again after that, before he went to you on loan. Then again, Barny Sornob was always a great judge of a player ...... honest. I actually think Hendrie might just drop a division, but I'm not sure the rough and tumble would suit him so well, and your turf is as bad as ours!
lefox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Am I the only one who felt let down by him.. sorry not for me. Spent too much time doing other peoples jobs and not his own. bye bye brummie..
norfolkfox222 Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_3561487,00.html No chance now, him and Blackwell have made up and Blackwell said he can flourish at sheff utd next season o well!

Chimp Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 i asked him after the s****orpe game if hed sign if we were in league 1 n he said maybe! 'Maybe' is brummie slang for 'gtfo noob'.
Tilley Posted 15 May 2008 Posted 15 May 2008 Blackwell wants him, ah well, we all knew we wouldn't get him.
eaststandtom Posted 16 May 2008 Posted 16 May 2008 he came and initially brought some enthusiasm into a cumbersome midfield but his passing was still poor. at times it looked like he was wearing triangular shaped boots. another average player who looked better playing in an awful side
skinner05 Posted 16 May 2008 Posted 16 May 2008 Rumour on our board (huddersfield) is that hendrie and lee holmes are signing on monday. Cant see it to be honest, although we do have a lot more money to spend next season so there is a chance but a very slim one

skinner05 Posted 16 May 2008 Posted 16 May 2008 Hendrie rejects Leicester for Huddersfield... Pull the other one! i suppose we will wait n see
The Reverend Posted 16 May 2008 Posted 16 May 2008 Hendrie will not play in League 1. He could still do a job in the Premiership for fook sake, and i would of thought he rejected a move to the Prem because of Sheff U's ££££££.....
