JoeyB Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Milan Mandaric has set his next Leicester City manager a two-year target to get the club back into the Premier League.Ian Holloway was sacked last weekend after Leicester's relegation to League One and former Derby manager Billy Davies and ex-Burnley boss Steve Cotterill are among the favourites to take over. Leicester chairman Mandaric wants to make an appointment by early next month but said: "I had a three-year plan to go to the Premier League and now it is a two-year project and the right man will be able to do that." Next manager to be linked with us Link
Ric Flair Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Cotterill's teams play a very tactically astute defensive game, that borders on mundane and boring at times. I have no doubts he'd do well heare if he was given a proper chance, but his football may piss me off royally. So i'm not that ecstatic about this latest development, but that's definitely a good thing as i'm a useless judge of manager.
MikeyT Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Nope, doesnt exactly fill me with excitement! Sorry but no thanks!

I can't take anymore defensive football, I admire anyone else who can after 4 years suffering from it. And Cotterill takes the piss.

kevinwpratt Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 "Milan Mandaric has set his next Leicester City manager a two-year target to get the club back into the Premier League." Nice one Milan good to see youa re being realistic....... Any one else getting tired of these near impossible expectations?
Vardinhio Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 MY mates cousins uncle is Steve Cotterill's milkmans best friend and it's true. He's came back from holiday and wanted his milk just after he got back from the stadium. Loads of money has gone on him apparently, it's a banker. He heard this off his bank manager's girlfriends mechanic. Banker! W*nk*r!
teblin Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Did really well at Cheltenham, avergage a best at burnley. We could do alot worse i guess.
Ric Flair Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I was impressed with his first two seasons at Burnley, but they would often have a horror period during each season, which if that were to happen here, would see Cotterill out on his ear and we'd be back to square one. The football he get's his teams playing is hard to relate to as a fan as well. 4-5-1. Not on me nelly do we want that down at Leicester.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 He didnt want the job a 2-3 seasons back when he was at Burnley.Only one for the job in my book who is not under contract B.D. I think this time we must get someone who has had experience getting a team into the prem it is a tough task i would love to see SIMON GRAYSON get intervieved for the job but whether he is yet capable of getting a team into the prem is another matter and his contract would have to be bought out.
Benjani Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I've always liked him. Think he'll do well here. He's got teams promoted three times as a manager in the lower leagues. Well I say teams, i mean team. Took Cheltenham Town from the Conference South to League 1.
barmy76uk Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 [Great manager, would love to see him or Simon Grayson aa manager!
Stevosevic Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Incredible job at Cheltenham, Conference South to Division Two, but i really dont want him here.
morris1234 Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 were all quick to criticise his 'boring' style of play but that wa sonly with burnley, they are about the most average team out there, average ground, facilities, average fan turn out and very average players! im not sure about him but i want mady to get it right this time!
smokey Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 MY mates cousins uncle is Steve Cotterill's milkmans best friend and it's true. He heard this off his bank manager's girlfriends mechanic. Banker! W*nk*r! I hope its true! Ive said i wanted Steve Cotterill on the last 4 or 5 appointments! Think he is very sound tactically and would get us out of this division, yes i know a lot of 1v0 wins but who cares!
Ultra Posted 1 June 2008 Posted 1 June 2008 Steve Cotterill,No thanks. Agreed. We should be looking for better - both in terms of result and style.
smokey Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 No thanks to Cotterill and No thanks to Billy Davies. So who do you want then???????
dandannieldanok Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 We should be looking for better - both in terms of result and style. If we had the type of results and played with the same style and tactics of Cotterill's Burnley we wouldn't be in this mess. I couldn't give two shiny shites about playing turgid football if it gets results, and I for one believe we would get the required results under Cotterill. We can't exactly cherry pick any manager we want, as that loud-mouth Ferguson blarted out, the turnover of managers has been farcical and makes us a no-go zone.
