Benjani Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 What's it all about? We've had failure at this club for so long now that people are thinking we're going to struggle in League 1. I know facts back this up (clubs being relegated to this division) but we are not one of those clubs. The only way we could use that to get negative about things, is if we had experienced it before. Which we havn't. Just be positive please because our club is at the lowest point ever and we don't need people expecting the worst because it will go through to the players. I know that Milan will not let our star players leave - has he done this yet? What players have left the club since he came which we didn't want to leave.

Uncle Albert Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Yeah meant like since he came here over a year ago. Still thought I would let everyone know the window is open July 1st.

I agree with you Benjani and i think its a good post however(dont want to start an argument here)it will only be a matter of time b4 people possibly reply saying your being patronising like they did me,when i posted similiar remarks.
Finchy Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 After being Leicester fans for so long, we've learnt not to get optimistic about a season because we always get let down, that is why we are negative. We are realists.

What players have we had that we didn't want to leave that he prevented leaving? How come were 'not one of those clubs' like we're bigger and better than Man City, Forest, Wolves, WBA etc. We're exactly one of those clubs in total and utter disarray. Based on previous seasons and Mandaric's lack of ability in recruiting decent managers it's a wonder anyone has any positivity left. Besides we don't follow LCFC out of positivity we follow them because.... well we just do!
morris1234 Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Still thought I would let everyone know the window is open July 1st. i thought you could sign anybody any time, even throughout the season, its just the windows are when they actually move clubs and there is a broader idea of whos available for transfer (the transfer list), its like teams are already signing players now but unless they are availbale on a free then they wont join until the next window july 1st so we could still lose players before that, but i think we should get a manager in first

We are realists. Yeah spose, although these days I don't really get let down with Leicester. If im positive about things I don't really get upset when it doesn't happen. After the last few years, losing is normal at the end of the day. I respect that other fans have there own way of dealing with it, but for me it's to be positive and if it doesn't happen then laugh it off.

I don't understand, In my way of thinking if your positive surly your expectations are higher and thus disappointed by Leicester because as you said losing has become a habit for us. The way I see it is if your pessimistic, which we have a right to be after the last 4 or so years your expectations are lower - If you have any expectations at all thus your not bothered (You are bothered, your always bothered, but it's not surprise) when Leicester lose because you expect them to lose/didn't think Leicester would win. The way I see it at this very time is the players have been shite this season, and my blame points at the players but I don't have much faith, expectation or many positive things to say about this club at the moment because to be quite frank I don't have much faith or positivity that Milan will make the right decision(s) (I'll admit I did think Milan coming was great and was very excited about it, I've been proved wrong)

The star players that got us relegated you mean?
Benjani Posted 30 May 2008 Author Posted 30 May 2008 The star players that got us relegated you mean? Yeah, also star players that get picked for the England U21's when they're 17. Players that are being watched by Premiership teams. The midfielder that scored 10? goals from midfield last season in a team that was relegated. Full Australia international. Northern Ireland international. Canadian international. So, you think Mauro Zarate is a bad player because he was in the team in which Birmingham was relegated.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 I am feeling optimistic about the new season myself. But I can completely understand those fans who are not getting their hopes up. After all, looking at our recent track record, why should we suddenly start delivering now? I prefer to be optimistic though and think we should make the best of a bad situation by giving the club a new start & building from the bottom up again & if it all goes tits up then I'll still be looking forward to getting on the road & having a laugh every saturday wherever we end up.
Rich Fox Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Yeah, also star players that get picked for the England U21's when they're 17.Players that are being watched by Premiership teams. The midfielder that scored 10? goals from midfield last season in a team that was relegated. Full Australia international. Northern Ireland international. Canadian international. So, you think Mauro Zarate is a bad player because he was in the team in which Birmingham was relegated. The effort was not there from the players, they did not give 100 % its not due to lack of ability and i think this will be proven when the likes of howard and hume are banging in the goals for a top championship side but for some reason they seemed to want us to go down well thats how it seemed.
ASH17LCFC Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Yeah, also star players that get picked for the England U21's when they're 17.Players that are being watched by Premiership teams. He was hardly playing well at all last season. Players being watched by Premiership teams ? Mattock and Stearman i'm guessing. Stearman and Mattock would get shat on in the premiership. Hume played on the wing and scored 10 goals but he wasn't on the wing all season as you have stated. Full Australia international - Not great are they in all honestly ... Northern Ireland international - See above and he doesn't start for them. Canadian international - Thats cute. Nearly all our players last year didn't give it their all. Stearman for the first half of they year was shocking remember and we wanted him dropped. We derserve what we got last season, this is a new start and we need to get rid of the dead wood and these ex premiership superstars.
dandannieldanok Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 The midfielder that scored 10? goals from midfield last season in a team that was relegated. Which midfielder was that?
Benjani Posted 30 May 2008 Author Posted 30 May 2008 Which midfielder was that? Max Gradel. And before you bother relying, I might aswell just say what you will say. In league 1? Yes, the league we are playing in next season.
ASH17LCFC Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Which midfielder was that? Hume i'm guessing but he wasn't playing on the wing all season.

Edit Were you also singing 'Ollies army' when we were being stuffed last season?
Fox You Forest Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 The only joke is you.Get a life, money well spent for any team. Edit Were you also singing 'Ollies army' when we were being stuffed last season? Is there really any need for that?
Raj Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I think most fans start off every campaign being positive. I especially think we City fans have been and look what it has got us over the last 4-5 years. Complete bollox. Although i sometimes do go on about fans being positive etc..i think it has minimal effect on those who can really make it count...ie the players! Im sure the majority of fans were positive at Stoke away and look were its landed us!
bigneville Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I'm stuck in a constant state of negativity currently, every new signing last year brought a little bit of hope, and that soon fizzled away. As soon as the club starts giving something back to the fans, in terms of league position and on the field results, then i'm sure we can start to believe again. Last summer, pre-Blackpool game, I had such a good feeling about the season, and to get beat by them at home, took it all away. I don't want the same thing to happen again this season. Fan positivity has to be encouraged from the club side, and at the moment, they haven't done anything to give me some positivity about next season at the moment.
